Allagash Curieux - Belgian Tripel aged in Bourbon barrels, 11% abv. I have been looking forward to opening this one for a while, since it combines two of my favorite drinks into one. The bourbon-soaked oak actually softens the edges of the Tripel. The two flavors blend surprisingly well. I highly recommend this brew, even at $13 per 750 mL. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/4/16909
Dammit Chad, I still haven't found the Avec les bon Voeux and I don't remember seeing the Allagash Curieux either. I need to check Spec;s downtown,
Having a Widmer Brothers Broken Halo IPA. Nicely citusy. Surprisingly good in that I bought it at WallyWolrd... http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/8/29663
I found a cool beer store in Atlanta today. It is called Greens, and their selection is awesome. Picked up 3 x 750mL of Avec les bon Voeux (will share one with you, DrE, if you cannot find it), 3 x 750 mL of Left Hand's "Snowbound", and 2 4-packs of the Terrapin Coffee Oatmeal Stout.
curses I had some Yeungling today...
Lagunitas - Saison Style Ale - 6% abv. Kind of bland for a Saison. Not really much to say. Tastes a little bit like hay. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/220/35752 Delirium Noel - Belgian dark strong ale, 10% abv. Pretty decent. Tastes a little like banana nut bread. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/180/2347
Yeungling again! Beer selection here is meh.
Had some paddle boat pislener, it was pretty good. I also brewed up my own batch (kind of cheating since it was Mr Beer, which is a little differnt that true brewing, but was a Xmas gift) and it is a blond pale ale. Has a good yeasty twinge to it, not bad for the first time, not sure if it was correctly done, though.
Tres Mujeres Anejo - not beer, Tequila. This stuff is sooooo good. http://www.tequila.net/tequila_revie...o_tequila.html
Anybody tried Arrogant Bastard Ale out of San Diego? I heard about it in marketing class and now I have to find some, it is nearly double the alcohol percent of a normal beer.
