DogtorEvil, the guy that owns St Arnold's is a character. He would probably take your suggestions kindly. I have only met him once, but a very likeable guy with a great outview on life, what else would you expect from a guy who makes beer for a living?

Lagunitas - Ruben and the Jets (another Zappa commemoration label) - another 22 oz bomber, 8.6 abv - something in between an imperial stout and a Belgian Dubble ale; dark, malty, molasses, chocolate, cherry, licorice. I would call this a "chocolate cherry cola beer". http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/220/46357

Sweetwater "Happy Ending" (Seasonal) - Imperial Stout, 9% abv. This is the most heavily hopped Imperial Stout I have ever had. Hops are very citrusy and overpower everything. Color is very dark - it looks like the an imperial stout should look like, but I am having a hard time tasting anything but citrus peel. Maybe it would mellow with aging. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/273/19488

Edit - some of the roasted malts come through as the beer warms. The alcohol is very well hidden.

Edit, Edit - this beer will get you drunnnnnnnnnnnnk.

Avery Fifteen Anniversary Ale - American Wild Ale, 7.7% abv. I am fairly experimental when it comes to beer, but this is too much for me. I am not sure that barnyard funk goes with the tartness of this beer. Fermented with 100% Brett. Very sour and funky.

Pyramid Apricot Ale (kind of sissy, sure), but I have never tasted apricots. I dont think I would like them much given the taste of the beer. Smell and taste of what I suppose is apricots (kind of peachy) is very strong for any "fruity" beer (no pun intended) that I have ever had. It leaves a decent aftertaste in your mouth if you let it sit for a few minutes. However, I do not like the initial taste.

Rogue DOUBLE Dead Guy Ale - Doppelbock, 9% abv - the beer looks perfect poured into a glass, and all around a pretty good brew. I like the regular Dead Guy Ale, so I had to give this a try. It wasn't exactly what I expected. I assumed it would overpower because the DGA is pretty powerful, but it came across as well-balanced for such a full beer.

Brewing my own Octoberfest this weekend. I'll let you know in a few weeks how it turns out. Chances are my rantings on BBB are about to become even more strange. Good times.

Guiss - Man law - beer and fruit don't mix

Guiss - will try the Double Rogue this week

Gonzo - your Octoberfest had better be as good as the Hacker-Pschorr or....you're in trouble.

The Double Dead Guy was goodish - I just wish it tasted as beautiful as it looked. I think it is a pretty good example of a Doppelbock. See if you can find the Avec les bon Voeux from Dupont. I would like to hear your take on it.

Unibroue's Quatre-Centieme Brassin Commemoratif - Belgian Strong Pale Ale, 7.5% abv. Kind of like a carbonated dry white wine. Spicy and sweet, but remarkably light mouthfeel owing to the carbonation. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/22/43169
