Study recommending merger of LSUS and Tech to be released today

Of course depends on the circumstances, but Reneau has outlined conditions for that to happen and if those are met then yes I could easily see Tech to the LSU System. And if at the same time we join we decrease the costs of operating LSUS by taking over admin it makes it a little sweeter for the system. I know many people have misgivings and think, to quote Admiral Ackbar, "IT'S A TRAP!", but I think it would end up in Tech being better insulated from the massive budget cuts of recent history. Also, I think it would help ensure we get what we have earned from the funding formula, instead of portions of our increased funding siphoned off to dead-weights in the system (ULM & Grambling I'm looking at you), like it has in the past.

And later on a sub-recommendation specifically states that a MOU from Reneau to not retire until certain early stage transition's are done; sounds like some on the board may get their wish that Reneau move on to greener pastures...

I don't think we should merge if we are staying in ULS. That just drags us down....
