FEW RHS students/parents at TAMU game?
I know it's been beaten to death about a Thursday night game hampering attendance. It's just been brought to my attention that RHS football is HEAVILY advised NOT to go to the game in Shreveport because of the Neville game (IMPORTANT) being the next day. That Thursday is the annual pep rally night as well.
I do realize that RHS is not an end all be all, but it does account for a lot of LOCAL students/parents who, might have otherwise planned on attending the game. ARgh
Sorry if this was mentioned elsewhere.

Re: FEW RHS students/parents at TAMU game?
I hate that we will lose several hundred parents/students who will have conflicts due to jr. high and high school football, but I'm glad we aren't making a big deal out of it by BEGGING schools to move their games.
Re: FEW RHS students/parents at TAMU game?
This will have very little effect on attendance.

If a high school fan base impacts a major college program you have to wonder how strong really is the college fan base. I attend Tech but could care less about Ruston High football.

So you are saying you do not yet care as little as possible about RHS football, and still care just a little about it?

Dang! You beat me to it. Bdfanatic must care cuz he says he could care less.
So . . . what he really means is he CANNOT care less.. . . I think.

Ruston hasn't been very good in decades...

Watch it buddy. Lot's of RHS grads are on this board. Plus, your statement is not factual. Ruston was in the title game in '98 and has been in the playoffs throughout the last decade.

Well you should know that it hasn't been as dire of a situation as you suggest!!
But being an '88 grad, I could see how you view the post-Childress era as sub-par. You were there during an unprecedented run in the 80's.
Re: FEW RHS students/parents at TAMU game?
Looks like my family won't be attending any Ruston games this year.

Yeah, how would they like it if Tech urged people not to attend RHS game because Tech had a home game the next night, "and it was a big game?"

It's not "A" high school fan base. It's almost EVERY Jr. High and several High Schools. I indicated several hundred folks won't be able to attend, but I'm being conservative. Anytime many of our long time season ticket holders can't attend the Tech season opener due to Jr.High and High School conflicts I'm concerned.
