A Look To The Past

One of our newspapers here in the Pittsburgh area, The Tribune Review, has a daily "Back In Time" piece recalling significant sports results on today's date. It usually gives a brief mention of anywhere from 6 to 8 events.

I was somewhat surprized and pleased to see today's date March 29 had two items mentioning Louisiana Tech. Here they are:

1981 -- Louisiana Tech routs Tennessee, 79-59 for the AIAW Women's National Championship.

1987 -- Tennessee routs Louisiana Tech, 67-44 to win the NCAA Women's National Championship.

Be careful, Bill Pup. If maddawg and some of his ilk see this thread, they will not be happy about the word "significant" being used to describe anything associated with women's basketball.

The way this board has been stopping and starting today, double posting doesn't shock me one bit.
