You're not the only one. The team, coaches, fans, and students have just about all clocked out for this shipwreck.
I was just thinking the same thing. I bleed blue but after that interception on our last real possession I am in bball mode. This team has the talent to win out and go bowling, but I'm just not seeing everybody buy in and go all out, there are a few guys going all out every play and fighting for this season, but sadly the collective effort is apathetic. Not fighting for the ball, letting the other team get lower, giving up on blocks, is not how bulldogs Fight.
See, people are to apathetic to post in this thread about their apathy.
Apathy=program killer
I was sitting down in the Joe in the 3rd quarter (I haven't really sat down at a game in years), and I realized that this one doesn't hurt as bad as Tulane. That is apathy. I expected and prepared for a loss. The 5 hour drive from Texas is getting less worth it each week.
We are back at least to the pre-Dooley era. Everything was set up for this year to cement our fan support and excitement. If we had put up 8-9 wins, we would be averaging 25K+ this year, a big milestone for us. And with this schedule, totally achievable.
Sad, very, very sad.....
I'm definitely glad I stayed home in Boerne, TX instead of making that freaking trip. I actually shut the game off at that last interception, and I couldn't tell you the last time I didn't watch the clock tick down to zero (even often in agony). I can't take this crap.
It's really bad when the best part of my evening was the 2 hours I spent at Chilis. The manager felt we waited to long for food and service and comped the meal.
I lost interest half way through the second half, it's obvious the students are noticing poor play and student attendance shows.
It finally set in with me after N. Texas went up 21-10...I didn't even get upset when they scored. I'll still root for the guys, but with no expectations.
I think there is still a hangover from the way last season ended, and of course, this bunch has done nothing but make it worse. There was NO excitement for the Lamar game. Found I was watching the clock and rooting for the game to be over so I could go home. And, albeit a sucky one, that was a "W!" From the beginning: the hire of skippy: no excitement, thru recruiting, no excitement, no anticipation of good things to come thru the spring, etc...
But, the "near miss" of last season, so close to going to the Orange Bowl.....to going nowhere....is still hanging like a dark cloud over Tech Nation. Now! had we hired a dynamic coach and the 2013 team was exciting and improving week to week, by now 2012 would have been a bad memory. Alas, that ain't so.
Dykes left us zero offensive line.
Holtz was a bad hire.
Apathy now.
