Well let's see if we can break the 0-3 streak we have when we receive votes in polls this year...
Tech received 2 points in the AP Poll this week, Old Dominion received 5. Iowa received 85 points to take # 25 in the poll. Keep winning and the top 25 could be within reach by the end of the season.

We could be ranked in the top 10, lose in the finals of the C-USA tournament and still not get an at large.
Well, maybe not top 10, but we would not be the first top 20 team to be left out as and at large.
TV announcers always talk about how great the teams are when they are announcing a game so you gotta take anything they say with a ton of salt, but one recently said he could see up to 3 C-USA teams in the NCAA tournament. I'm not buying it myself, but I guess we'll see.Quote:

I'm wondering if the committee would consider Tech's body of work over a three year period if Tech has close to 30 wins this season, but doesn't win the conference tournament. Tech would have shown it is a quality program, but just didn't win the conference tournament. How many undefeated teams are in the tournament - maybe a maximum of 1 or 2 a year? But hopefully Tech will win the conference tournament and it won't even be an issue.
Based on what happened to USM and other teams who had great "bodies of work" over a long period, they will not. Sub 40 RPI is not a lock and that is as good as it gets. Top 25 means zilch.Quote:
