Auburn Paying Tech $1.2 Million for Homecoming Game
Brandon Marcello reports (7-10-2014) that Auburn is paying Louisiana Tech $1.2 million to be its Sept. 27 Homecoming opponent, "according to documents obtained Thursday by AL.com."
Tech is one of two teams receiving more than a million dollars to play the Tigers at Jordan-Hare Stadium. San Jose is to receive $1.5 million.
These "exceed" Auburn's "highest payout given to Washington State ($1.15 million) last season," the report states.

Wish we had used $300k of this to buy out the LaLaff game. No reason (other than politics) to have renewed that series. I think we may have gotten some help in the Legislature we wouldn't have gotten otherwise. Hard for simple folks like me to see the big picture, but I guess I might as well accept it.

Clearly San Jose St did a better job if negotiating than we did. We shouldn't agree to be anyone's Homecoming bitch unless we can bring our own officials.

Muchos gracias Germdawg. He's a Braves fan as well. Sure enough is! I like the large illustration to easily notice the differences. After all of the trouble to get all painted up, you think he would have had a matching cap.

Some pointed out the obvious, which was that San Jose got more than us. We may have settled for less than the going rate. This is approximately the same amount we got the last time we traveled to Auburn. One difference in the last payout and this one is that (supposedly) Miss St supplemented the 1st payout.
