Re: Paul Myerberg Conference USA Preview
Seems like he put a lot more weight on USM losing Monken than us having a question mark at QB. I miss his countdown...

Don't we have a question mark at QB each year?

I agree with that. We were Monken's focus in conference. He had an axe to grind and he did it well. He almost beat us in there in 2014 with a really bad team, then turned around and beat us like a yard dog on our own field with a much less talented team. Monken could coach his guys up for us. I don't believe Hopson will have the fire to beat us that Monken had.

 North Texas is a much less talented team. USM won the division and had a receiver we couldn't cover and didn't turn the ball over 7 times.

Doesn't mean they were more talented. We had a bad game. They were fired up and well coached. We were not. It was obvious before kickoff who was going to win.

The entire week leading up to the game was foreboding. We weren't ready to play.
Re: Paul Myerberg Conference USA Preview
I think we were equally talented and they played a better game that day... and I agree, they looked like they wanted it more. But that made it a blow out win for them, not a close win for them over a more talented team.
Re: Paul Myerberg Conference USA Preview
Have I been so far away from college football that I DIDN'T notice USM's coaching change? and I call myself a fan...

I think Mike Thomas was more talented than any defensive back we could put on the field and that's a fact.

+1.
It was just a terrible day all around.
Ito Smith- 22 carries, 169 yds, 3 TDs
Michael Thomas- 7 catches, 162 yds, TD
USM Defense- 4 INTs, one returned for a TD, held us to -2 yds net rushing
Driskel- 3 INTs
KD- -8 yards
Rushing game- led in yardage by Paul Turner. Yes, Paul Turner. 1 carry for 7 yards.
7 turnovers. SEVEN. TURNOVERS.
Simply put, they played a good game while we spent the entire afternoon actively trying to figure out how to suck as much as possible. Worst game I've seen a Tech team play since the 2011 Hawaii fiasco.

I believe there was also a successful onside kick (just like in the WKU game) against us. But, in reality, besides our rushing problems, things only degenerated at the end of the 3rd quarter. I believe we were still 24-28 until we blew-up :'(
