Re: Start Westin Elliot Now!
J'Mar just needs to play and not worry if he gets chewed out by Holtz for running over a DB.
Re: Start Westin Elliot Now!
Blame Holtz if you like, but J’Mar sucks plain and simple. Time for a change.

Re: Start Westin Elliot Now!
We don't have a 5th year senior power 5 QB transfer on our roster this year. I'm fine with trying another QB, but our problems go much deeper than who the QB is.

J'Mar is starting because Holtz thinks he was and is our best option. I think I'll blame Holtz.

Who will you blame if it turns out that Holtz is Right? With the same play calls, same number of dropped passes, and the same OL, I don't think it would matter who the QB is.

Re: Start Westin Elliot Now!
Westin better be able throw while running - o-line hasn't protect the QB consistently all year nor been able to open up running lanes fir our backs. The absence of a consistent running game & inability protect the QB has been the primary problem. JMar has struggled for sure but hard to find any rhythm while constantly improvising & no running game fir balance. My guess is Westin will follow the others that exited since it appears Holtz is locked in to Smith.

J'Mar lacks time, but he can't make the reads or the throws even when he has time. He missed on several easy passes yesterday.
Lacking a consistent running game? Boston Scott has proven repeatedly to be our best option, but is still not the starter. Our HC is determined to run the stupid delayed hand off and run outside the tackles. We are negative yardage on both for the season. The "diamond package" worked for a TD yesterday. We never went back to it again.
Our HC lost the game yesterday.
Re: Start Westin Elliot Now!
Holtz letting someone else call the plays will help us a lot more than changing the QB.

I agree. Also when things were going well with the Diamond package with Scott and McKnight, he put a banged up Craft in thr mix. He should have sat him out. Holtz messed up a good thing that was working for him.

That is not going to happen. Holtz 100% believes in conservative "just get another FG" offense and conservative "prevent" defense. Any risk-taking coaches will not last long on his staff. It has to be demoralizing to assistant coaches and players.

He ran the diamond package for the first TD in the first half. Craft went back in in the second half in some other type package that didn't work. In the first half we scored with Tucker, McKnight, and Scott.
