Grambling Alumni Association wants reparations from the BoR/LaTech
Apparently it's Tech's fault Grambling is a struggling institution, and if Grambling can't thrive, then neither should Tech... because hundreds of years of racism.

Imagine how President Jones & Dr. Johnson felt knowing that the scale wasn’t balanced & millions of $ in funding would always go to Tech. They forged ahead despite the unfair separate but equal culture, which still exist. We must scale our efforts, increase enrollment & innovate.

We should NOT celebrate this gift to LA Tech until Louisiana ‘remedy the lack of investment in the state’s #HBCUs & resolve hundreds of years inequality in public higher education.’ Where are Grambling’s new buildings, new, unique and high-demand programs? #EqualityNow #TimesUp

As we honor the 55th anniversary of the #MarchOnWashington, we learn @LATech is getting wealthier while @Grambling1901 is dealing with the lingering impact of 100s of years of inequality & discrimination. Where are our new buildings, high-demand programs? #EqualityNow #TimesUp

Re: Grambling Alumni Association wants reparations from the BoR/LaTech
I took a couple of summer classes at GSU. I even went to a couple of football games there whenever Tech was away. I was always treated well there, and I generally support the G-Men and feel warmly towards Grambling despite their occasional bad press or failed audit.
And I share the position that any lingering legacies of institutional inequality are unacceptable and should be addressed head on.
But the sentiments in these tweets are misplaced.
I mean c'mon guys. Of all Grambling's problems ... Tech is not in the top 100.

Don't they have a 4-year nursing program that we're not allowed to have?
Utter, entitlement nonsense. As long as Louisiana handholds these financial and academic black holes, our problems will only get worse.
Re: Grambling Alumni Association wants reparations from the BoR/LaTech
Hey Grumbling, get your house in order and keep it that way before you worry about ours. YOU And ONLY YOU are to blame for your present condition.
Re: Grambling Alumni Association wants reparations from the BoR/LaTech
We have a socialist liberal poster here who will find some way to defend these tweets.
No, their problems have nothing to do with horrible leadership and being members of the 40 years outdated LBJ crowd.
Re: Grambling Alumni Association wants reparations from the BoR/LaTech
They just need to go find all the money the auditors haven’t been able to locate over the years.

Maybe the Southern band director has it?
Re: Grambling Alumni Association wants reparations from the BoR/LaTech
I have no problem saying they have been underfunded. I don't think Tech is the reason. Seems misplaced.

Didn't I just see an article somewhere about them getting the states "only" cybersecurity program? (I know fact checking isn't big in Louisiana)
Re: Grambling Alumni Association wants reparations from the BoR/LaTech
Grambling is a joke and should be shut down.
It can be phased out...
keep it open as is for 2 years allowing all upper classmen to graduate.
Then phase it into a college in Louisiana Tech University allowing current under classmen to graduate with a diploma reading Louisiana Tech University - Grambling College.
After 4 years turn it into a JUCO, and it can keep the name of Grambling Junior College, but administered by Louisiana Tech University. Tech can then up its ACT score and entry requirements, and set a lower standard, whereby students scoring 25 but not 27 or 28, will automatically be enrolled in Grambling Junior College, and after two years, having maintained a certain GPA, would make a seamless transition to Tech. Or! having completed two years, an Associate Degree in hand, students can transfer to another 4-year university of their choice.

That's actually a great idea. A plan like this would also enhance the University of Louisiana System academic scores, finances and standards by removing the poor performers from the system averages. But HBC's are political untouchables, and we all know it.
Re: Grambling Alumni Association wants reparations from the BoR/LaTech
Typical enabled liberal thinking on their part. It's a mental illness actually as they are always blaming somebody else for their mistakes and failings.
Re: Grambling Alumni Association wants reparations from the BoR/LaTech
We don't want that hot mess, their books are so cooked and messed up it's like quick sand...
