Re: Louisiana is "Most Stressed" State in U.S.
I suggest the demographics of the population is the largest driver of this poll.
Re: Louisiana is "Most Stressed" State in U.S.
Looking at the methodology:
We are poor, sick, bad with money, unhappy with our spouses, and unemployed.

Too many democrats dressed as Republicans running the state. I am as conservative as they get, but I can tell you first hand that party politics in LA are not the reason for its downfall. Both sides are hell bent on enriching themselves and destroying whatever is left. This state has the worst tax system in the country and is the least business friendly apart from Mass. Institutionalized welfare programs that will never be taken away haunt us daily. We are a banana republic and a majority of our best and brightest move to Texas or Georgia.

This has been happening since Iberville & Bienville were running the joint.

I can't argue with that. Its the French culture in us. Have you every seen the French doing anything right politically? My point is that a Politician is a Politician and we got way too many in Baton Rouge. Good people go down there and turn in to bureaucrats with an agenda. To make matters worse they forget about the people up here in North LA who put them there.
Re: Louisiana is "Most Stressed" State in U.S.
Those wiley cajuns down in South Louisiana have been working their magic forever. Ever since the days of Huey Long (and maybe before) North Louisiana thought they controlled politics. New Orleans could not even get their mayor (Morrison) elected governor over Earl Long or Jimmy Davis. The first governor from South Lousiana was F. Edwin Edwards. So all of this mess started when North Louisiana ran things. Their was a rule that the governor could not succeed himself but a puppet was just elected. At least we had almost free higher education and anyone (white of course) had to be accepted to any state school, including LSU.

North LA Governors have been bad to North LA for ages. They knew they had our votes regardless so they doled out all the goods to the voters down south. What infrastructure has been created north of I-10? What institutions have been developed instead of robbed north of I-10? Tops Scholarships were a great idea but the reality is that its a failure. There is no incentive for a top flight kid to stay in LA once they have received a free education. The economic climate here makes it impossible to keep large corporations here. We are giving free education to Texas' workforce and going in the hole to do it.

It's not wrong to have a nice poop either.
But when it's all one ever talks about, it can be a sign of deeper mental health issues.
