Louisiana Tech senior quarterback J'Mar Smith was named to the 2019 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Watch List, the organization announced Monday afternoon.

It will take a miracle, but I hope he has a miracle season and wins that award!!!

Almost 1/2 of the FBS QBs were nominated and 1/3 of C-USA QBs were nominated.

It would be awesome for him to win- that means we would have had an amazing season. Bring on the trophy!

However, the 4 year rock star wasn’t named a team captain. Cody is deserving for sure, but still, a senior QB and not a captain?

Jmar played a great game against BG and is having a good year. He has really come around with the right QB coach and is showing maturity.

Please stop bashing Tech's greatest ever QB. He's forgotten more about being a QB than Skip will ever know. How many sacks has your hero QB taken this year when he could have thrown the ball away or thrown toward a wide open receiver? At least 8 times and some were against Grambling. That's bad QB play and bad QB instincts. He has ALWAYS done that. He's not coachable.

According to ESPN, J'Mar's only been sacked 7 times. Not all of those are on him, but some certainly are.
