Re: Driskel Now with Lions
If he can play for the Lions, why did Cincy give him that injury release? Regardless, glad he landed somewhere.

I'm sure the deal is he has an injury. It's not that bad. But you can't just release an injured player. Either Cincy wanted to move on or Driskel didn't want to spend the season on IR...or Both. So they do an injury settlement and part ways. Works out for Jeff as he gets some cash in his pocket and it looks like he's going to slide right in as the top backup to Stafford.
Re: Driskel Now with Lions
Now he is off to Denver, keeping those NFL checks coming.
Re: Driskel Now with Lions
And Vernon Butler has signed with Buffalo.

Driskel is not making the big money, but he's hanging around the NFL long enough to make a career of it. He made 720K per year with the Lions. Not sure what his deal with Denver looks like.

According to spotrac he has been paid a little over $2.1 million so far. I bet when he was ran out of Gainesville he didn't think he would make over $2 million in the NFL. This year if he stays healthy and on the roster, the minimum for a player with his tenure is $790,000. NFL back-up, best job in America.

Good for him. Yes, just hang in there like Luke McCown did.

Amen! I'm sure anyone would love that job!
