History of LaTech helmets

@wtfcoach: Today we feature the helmet history of Louisiana Tech (Team 55/130). @LATechFB has 25 different helmets (24 pictured & 1 missing from '18).

I don't remember the silver ones, or for that matter the first three. For my first three years they had white with a single red stripe. Coach Lambright's state T debuted my senior year (1968 season).

I'm partial to the modern ones. The last three on the third shelf are all good.

I suppose the 1 missing from ‘18 is the white T.

Im fairly certain that the silver ones were worn by Phil Robertson when he was QB when he first started. I remember seeing some video of him in it.

Top shelf, 2nd from the right. That's your white helmet with single red stripe (mid 1960's). The positioning of the helmet makes it a little hard to see the stripe. I'd like to see a throwback version of that one too.

Does anyone remember the black ones, or have seen pictures of the black ones? The black with the red stripes would be a pretty wild throwback.

I think they’re showing the old leather helmet designs using a hard helmet

Bring back the white T! Having all those helmets together really shows how much better the logo is with a white T.

Never thought about the leather helmets having color. Now I see where Michigan's design came from.

Glad we have moved beyond the Bulldog logo helmet. Me no likey because it is too cartoonish. And the more we wear the white helmets, the more i like the red ones. I don't dislike the white ones, but wish we would wear the red ones more often.

Besides the red out game I can't recall wearing the red helmets. Like HD I would like to see the single red stripe as a throw back. Penn State has the single blue. Real classy. However, I like both the white and red helmets.

Should be easy to execute. Just decals the equipment staff needs to remove and replace.
