Skip Holtz coaching rumors
Re: Report: Skip Holtz interested in Mississippi State job
He can be interested all he wants but he would do horrible at Mississippi State and I think most people can see that. He would be in a conference division with Nick Saban, Jimbo Fisher, Guz Malzahn, Lane Kiffin, and Orgeron's LSU team that's now rolling. We complain that Skip beats the teams he is supposed to beat and loses to the teams he is expected to lose to. He would automatically lose 5 games every year by that metric in the SEC West and he would be lucky to be get as high as 5th in it. But maybe they have low expectations in Starkville. There are better candidates for sure.

At 55, Skip is looking for a job with a golden parachute when he gets canned. That's his retirement plan.

He already has that.
Nothing saying that Miss St is actually interested in him.
Re: Report: Skip Holtz interested in Mississippi State job
Didn't Billy Brewer do this in the day? Or was that Ole Miss?
Re: Report: Skip Holtz interested in Mississippi State job
Brewer went to Ole Miss, his alma mater. I believe he was their top target because he played for Vaught during Ole Miss’ glory years.
Re: Report: Skip Holtz interested in Mississippi State job
If he wants it, let him go have it. Can’t blame the man for that one bit. But Ruston is a damn easy job - little pressure, 6-7 easy wins a year, etc.
If he bails, it tells me our QB situation is worse than we believe.
Also, if he leaves, let every assistant coach, sans the strength coach walk thy day.
Holts took us to 6 straight bowls but never could get all the pieces together at the right time.
IF, if he takes the MSU job, he will be fired in less than 3 seasons. He will be lucky to have a .400 winning percentage after 3 years.
Hell, he will lose to Southern Miss at least once when MSU plays them.

We went to Ole Miss after being HC at SELa.

?
He came to us from Southeastern, then we to Old Miss.
Also, he took the Ole Miss job, then proceeded to get us beaten by Delaware in a 1AA playoff game.

Is that King James English? I hope it's not a prophecy. I think a lot of Tech's football success comes from the strength and conditioning coach.

Skip does not beat all the teams he should beat. If he did he would have at least a couple of Conference championships by now.

And probably would have been hired away with multilple 10-11 win seasons.
Re: Report: Skip Holtz interested in Mississippi State job
We should pay him more. He almost got an interview this time.
