Louisiana Tech head football coach Skip Holtz announced two coaching additions to both sides of the ball on Thursday, as Anthony Camp joins the staff as Tech's defensive line coach, while Trey Holtz will come aboard to coach Tech's inside receivers.

"In his two years at ULM, Camp's defensive line helped force 319 sacks. In 2018, the Warhawks finished second in the Sun Belt in sacks with 222, while two of Camp's defensive lineman ranked in the top 12 of conference sack leaders."
Unbelievable!!! Of course it's incorrect. 2018 was 34 sacks for a total of 319 yards lost, and 2019 was 20 sacks for a total of 97 yards lost. How can something this wrong make it through?

I can see it now, Trey Holtz announced as Tech’s new head coach for the 2027 season.

Yes, after Skip has won 7 more bowl games and gotten 56 more wins over those 7 seasons (that's 8 per season for those who can't do math). Still nobody has asked him to interview and our fans are upset because we are not paying him more to prevent him from leaving. Our average attendance will be down to 5000 per game by then because nobody will hire our AD away either.

I think I saw that we hired our other WR coach - also from ODU.

Too many effing coaches! It's even more ridiculous in basketball when there's 6 or 7 suits sitting on the bench. In hoops, TWO coaches is all you need on the bench. Yeah, maybe there's some part-timer connected with recruiting who can also help. In football, my gawd! "Inside receiver" coach, what the hell is that?

But they can't spend the money on the students, so they've got to spend it somewhere (and naturally more coaches = more coaching and in theory better playing).

OK -- I saw a news report (I believe on The News-Star website) that said "due to the nepotism laws in Louisiana, the older Holtz will be a volunteer coach."
What the heck?
Anyone with insight on this?

....That just means they'll probably be forced to pay him out of LTAC funds.

Well that makes about 250ish sacks in practice.

Can't - he would still be considered an employee of the University since that is a quasi-public entity and subject to the same laws via associated transactions
I figure Skip is paying him out of "football camp monies" which are all his $$$ and he has proprietary ownership of
