LA Tech vs UNT Predictions for 12/3

Let's have 'em. Who's gonna win, and by how much?


I know UNT is the home team, but UNT took it on the chin pretty hard last week from UTSA. On the other hand, LA Tech hasn't played a game in almost 5 weeks, so I don't really know what to expect from our Dawgs. Could we be rusty?

Tech offense struggles while defense pins it's ear back and GATA big time to win by 10.

This feels right. Offense can't do anything in the 2nd half but defense fends off a comeback down the stretch to scrape it out.

Make no mistake, UNT hates LA Tech. There's no one that the UNT fans, the UNT coaching staff and UNT players would rather beat more than LA Tech. Why? Because UNT has more money, more students, arguably better athletic facilities and has invested a large fortune in Coaching staff salaries, and yet THEY STILL CAN'T BEAT LA TECH! In 3 trips to Apogee Stadium in the last 6 years, LA Tech has never lost.

Did you know that UNT Head Coach Seth Littrell --who finished 4-8 last season-- is paid more money ($1.865M per year) than any coach in CUSA? Yes, Littrell's salary is over twice Skip Holtz's 700K salary, and sits at the very top of the conference. And yet, he still can't beat the little country bumpkin school from Louisiana who not only beats him every year on the field, but also produces 10 fold the number of NFL draft choices that UNT does. UNT insiders tell me that Littrell is on the block, and has been told "beat LA Tech, or else". As a result, I'll be surprised if this game actually gets played. Look for Littrell to come up with a COVID excuse to cancel this one.

We opened as a 2 point favorite, but the line has switched to UNT by 1. Just like this whole year, I have no idea. We haven't played in a month (or more?). We should be healthy but I imagined we'll be pretty disjointed.

Another factor is the opt-out crew. I mean at least we've had time for their back-ups to get reps as the starter. Henderson hadn't been the same anyway, would have preferred to have him, but not sure what impact that makes. The other two worry me more.

This is harder than predicting the first game of a season.

Ok. Fine.

I think another factor in this game may be the 3 players who will no longer be a part of the team. I would prefer to have all 3 still on the team, but 2 of the losses will likely mean more than the third.

Is that close enough for you?
