I knew it had to be coming. Nebraska may never be a national title contender again. But their fans expect way more than they have gotten lately.

Has a coaching carousel thread ever started after week 3? (I count week 0 as week 1)

Last season usc fired Clay Helton after week 2 or 3 however you look at it, after a 1-1 start. Ironic huh? But I get your point, seems like it is faster every season.

So, when we go play NU next year they'll have a new coach, probably a dern good one, and we'll get smoked. :icon_roll:

I mention this only because I am mired in all things NSU around here, but I am surprised Brad Laird is still employed. Might survive the season or til week 11, but he's probably gone. These lousy coaches don't have AD Greg Burke covering for them anymore.

It’s amazing how far Nebraska has fell since Tom Osborne retired.

Actually since Frank Solich who was 58-19 in 6 years. At the time Nebraska thought that was unacceptable.

Steve Pederson the horrible AD was the real problem.

That’s true, but those Osborne teams were dominant. Now the Nebraska teams are doormat.

Truth!!!! I've lived in Natchitoches since 1986 and agree with the above. The last good football coach here was Sam Goodwin. I quit going to NSU games in 2000.

They may have a hard time getting another big time coach to go there. Herm left that place in a mess, both with players left and the ncaa mess.

Fired in the end zone after the game! I’ve heard of being fired on the tarmac, but being fired between the lines must feel different. If you see the video, it seemed like he knew what was about to happen.
