Is it time for Brooke to go back to the beginning and consider a lesson from Coach Hogg?
As we know Coach Hogg found an excellent partner in Leon Barmore and as we also know he became the actual coach and Sonja became the recruiter for the program.
Even though this will porbably mean putting hubby off the coaching payroll and finding him something else to do.
We know that Coach Hogg and Coach Barmore developed a program that made history
I can't determine whether the problems we face in all sports are made better or worse by WBB's unimportance in the grand scheme.
My thought is that the power disparity is 1) greater and 2) more centralized to a few programs than it is in football. Even if we had lsu's coach (press S to Spit) we don't have lsu's budget, so we can't get lsu's recruits.
So trying to figure out why something isn't working 40 years too late is just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.
It's not time for Brooke to go back to the beginning, it's time for us to do so.

The book for me is still open for Cumbie, but it is closing fast on Hester. Cumbie was at least a P5 top-level assistant/coordinator. Hester has been a journeyman assistant whose biggest item on his resume that influenced the hire appears to be that he previously was at Tech.

Brooke has never coached a team that lost less than 10 games. And she only has two teams in her prior 10 seasons as a head coach that broke 20 wins with 21. Her average record of 17.2-13.7 over her first 10 years with an 0-6 postseason record appears to be what we are going to get from her. Her teams will be good enough to contend, but not good enough to get over the hump.
I'd feel differently about Brooke if this was year 3 or 4, but this is year 7. Time to put up, move on, or be moved on.

Somebody needs to tell our leader that Title IX is not a big deal now.

Evidently winning isn’t all that important at Tech with university leaders who fail doing their own jobs as long as those coaches play the suck-up on campus and are good media BS artists. Conference Championships should be the goal for every sport. Regular Season and Tournament.
That should be standard for any HIRE and any Renewal of contracts. Is this coach going to help us compete for conference championships. Year after year.
If the answer is no, then move on.
I've never understood why conference championships are the bar when the only real bar in football is bowling and a top 25 ranking. In basketball and girls basketball it is winning the conference tournament, not winning the conference. In baseball it is winning the conference tournament, not the conference, although in baseball that is usually enough to get a bid.

A smart AD at a G5 school has to demand that our coaches are judge on something. Brooke got lucky last year after years of mediocrity. She got an unnecessary contract extension. The AD should have looked at her total record and realized nobody else is hiring her.
