Amazing, but Typical of our Current Leadership at EllAye Tech.
So I have focused my giving on baseball for obvious reasons. We give all we can for two season tickets and the $500 LTAC level. I know, this is chicken feed for the over achievers who ask for even more money, but THIS is what's wrong with LaTech from the President, to the AD, to the minions who send these stupid begging emails out without any consideration of who they are sending them to.
Here's the body of an email coming after the sweep of a team who has not won a game this year. Good grief! These are the peeps who think Aramark and Learfield are the bomb!
Louisiana Tech trailed Big 10-member Northwestern, 9-3, going into the bottom of the second, then outscored the visiting Wildcats 13-0 the rest of the way to win, 16-9, and sweep the three-game series on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.
The Bulldogs will take Monday and Tuesday off and get back to work Wednesday before heading to Fayetteville to play No. 8 Arkansas Friday at 3, Saturday at 2 and Sunday at 1. Tech returns to The Love Shack March 14-15 for a Tuesday-Wednesday set against Air Force, then opens the C-USA season at home with three weekend games against Charlotte beginning Friday, March 17.
Competing at a championship level requires championship resources, and we need your loyal support as we embark on the 2023 season. You are invited to support our championship efforts in providing a first class experience for our student athletes. You can donate an amount that is meaningful to you or pledge to support every time the Diamond Dogs win, record a Strikeout, hit a Home Run or win a C-USA Title and secure a NCAA bid. |
|
We look forward to staying in touch with you throughout the year and can't wait to welcome you and your family back to the Love Shack this spring. |

I've noticed they have added a LTC donation amount to football season ticket renewals also...

Yep / doubled my season ticket price for General Admission section OO. With the weeknight games, might just skip season tix and only pay when I go.

?
They want more money to watch NMSU on a Tuesday? I know there is an extra home game this year compared to last year, but 2 of them on on weeknights! Double!?!?!?
Re: Amazing, but Typical of our Current Leadership at EllAye Tech.
It’s understandable that Tech always want more and more and more from its fans. I mean that’s what programs do. What gets me through is that as the fan we never see the fruits of our contributions. If you want to look at it simply I’d like to see a significantly improved stat board at the baseball games that keeps me up on our players’ performances. In this regard as it’s been said many times before Tech’s product is woefully pathetic. And not to pick on baseball alone, the football big screen is multiple times worse. So, if Tech wants more money how about at least satisfying the low hanging fruit fundamentals of what the fans want.

Yeah I’d like to see my money go towards providing a quality streaming platform. I feel as if I’m watching some student volunteers run the video on cusa.tv.

Actually students would take more pride in producing a watchable production. The ones (Learfield) who get paid almost nothing to do nothing are what our leaders take pride in. You get what you pay for.

I actually got the email and decided to give $500. I’m fairly disconnected from Tech these days but I feel like the baseball program is the only program with some pride left.

Pretty sure Tech is using Ruston High students that are enrolled in the Media Broadcast and Production course for the cusa.tv telecasts.

From what I was told, Grambling beat them to the punch so they are 3 minutes west running their cameras….

I’m 41. I can remember back into my preteen years when I actually started paying attention and our ability to do the small things well was nonexistent back then. Bottled drinks being out on ice 30 minutes before game time. Scoreboards not working or not being run properly. Parking nightmares. Tailgating tragedies. Pitiful crowd engagement. Lackluster giveaways. To my recollection, 30 years of never getting to the big things because the little things eat up the resources and still aren’t right.

It took something so elementary to wake you up?

Hardly read the email, but it showed in my inbox and I was feeling generous and liked how Burroughs represented Tech with the whole Ole Miss fiasco.
Think I should take my money back?

Makes sense because the Media and Broadcast Production class would have been taught that the number 1 rule in video production is to follow the ball while a play is in progress.
I am tired of watching the baseball center field shot showing the plate with no players in sight while action is taking place elsewhere on the field. Or the camera being shown on the feed moving from the plate to follow the runner getting to first and rounding without showing the play.
Note to whoever is running the camera switcher--when the bat makes contact, switch to the field shot so viewers can watch the play.
