I thought LA Tech was supposed to be pretty good at Baseball. But, 10-10? Are we going to tear Baseball down now too?

There's nothing left. I have to imagine our leadership is not this stupid, which only leaves one possibility

We must face the fact that the "swells" don't care as much as we do!!!

As much as I hate to admit it I’ll be listening to Burroughs’ radio show this evening to hopefully hear what he’s going to do about how bad a team Tech is right now. He keeps saying “we’re not very good, but that we’ll get better.” Based on how I’ve seen him coach in the past that just means he’s not going to do anything except wait it out and essentially go by the old ‘that’s just baseball’ BS. Sorry, but I don’t believe in the ‘that’s just baseball’ thing. Good teams, seriously good teams are good because they make things happen… they practice the right things and then perform them. Tech clearly doesn’t do that. In all the years that Burroughs has been here I’ve yet to see him positively impact the outcome of a game with his decision making or seriously change the course of the team. It’s always been a player or two that have come through in key moments, but never the coach. Matulia’s 0-for run and our team’s miserable batting average is undeniable evidence of bad coaching. It’s simply impossible for a team of college athletes to all be this bad without bad coaching being at the heart of it. All of this is true of our pitching too. Our team is a reflection of who they’re led by Burroughs, Gaspard & Fouts… Woods & Guice as the lead from behind examples.

Until we get a President and an AD who state clearly that our minimum expectation is Conference Championships in every sport, we will continue to be mediocre.
It’s a Tech thing.
They say we strive for excellence, but their actions say otherwise. Their actions say we strive for average.
Re: Bulldogs Drop Conference Series in Weekend Finale
As to our immediate woes, I think there is plenty of blame to go around. Coaches have to do things differently in practice and games if what they are doing is not working. Players have to change their approach at the plate if they aren’t hitting. Start looking to hit first pitch fastballs that are piped down the middle. Train yourself to go with the pitch instead of watching pitches go by that you don’t like even if they are called strikes. Stand on top of the plate to hit that outside pitch the opposite way. It’s going to be called a strike anyway. I think we gave up a fair amount of first pitch base hits in the last 5 games. Start throwing off speed or breaking pitches to start an at bat.

Honestly - I don't think we are very talented at the plate even if McConnel was in the line-up
Missing two weekend guys and an all world closer off the bump
Missing a great CF in Bates, a great leader in Netterville and a generational player in TY
That's before what we take into account what they meant in the clubhouse
There is no "dawg" in this group - NO WHERE
We just aren't very good
