Re: Stress Free Saturdays
Stress free Saturdays because Crummy's bunch is mostly playing on weekdays. Of course, there's really no stress any day when you have zero expectations of success.
Re: Stress Free Saturdays
It was stress free today, but unfortunately I also watched Miss State and Arkansas.

THAT was some bad football right there.
Re: Stress Free Saturdays
Wow, the day before a game and so little interest there's not even a game day thread started.

At least y'all watched it on TV. I was there. Quite possibly the worst football I have ever seen in my 50+ years as a football fan.

Pathetic and Sad are enormous understatements for the state of La Tech Football. There’s no enthusiasm and no interest to be found anywhere. I haven’t even seen anything promotion wise in Ruston. This program is flatlining and except one is stepping up to operate the defibrillator. You’d think that with a new president coming in at least AD Wood would be jump starting his efforts to do something… anything to keep his job but maybe doing nothing is good enough at Tech.
Come on Cumbie snap out of it and call a good game for once. Here’s a start, don’t call a sideline pass to Smoke for at least the whole first quarter. I promise NMST has been preparing for it all week and they’ll probably be better at executing the stop than Tech will be at executing the play.
Re: Stress Free Saturdays
Oakes, Bicknell and Conroy Hines calling screen passes every other play. We didn’t know how good we had it!
Re: Stress Free Saturdays
I will be watching tonight, but pretty much am just waiting on basketball now and hoping for the best in that too.
Re: Stress Free Saturdays
I'll be surprised if we win tonight. It's not that NMSU is particularly good, it's just that they don't absolutely suck like us. Still, they are New Mexico State for Pete's sake, I mean, come on Dawgs...sheesh! :icon_roll:
Crummy has to practically run the table to avoid a second straight losing season, but with losses coming at Liberty and Jax State, ain't going to happen. So, he will join Billy Brewer as the only other coach* to start his Tech career with back-to-back losing seasons. In 1980 and 1981 Brewer went 5-6 and 4-6-1 before recording a 10-3 season in 1982.
* in modern times.
Okay, just had to look it up. Tod Rockwell had back-to-back losing seasons at Tech in 1928 and 1929. So, Crummy is about to enter rarified air!
Re: Stress Free Saturdays
The Greek letters are back! Our journey back to FCS is complete :icon_roll:.
Yeah, I know, it's a special promotion. But still...
Re: Stress Free Saturdays
Haha. The very first play looked to be a sideline pass that was too well covered so the QB had to run it. 3 & out, so much for our 2 weeks of practice scripted plays.
Re: Stress Free Saturdays
Cumbie’s usual gutless play calling… a run up the middle on 3 & 24.
Re: Stress Free Saturdays
I swear, we can't get out of our own way. We get in the red zone on our second drive and get a dumb 15 yard penalty and have to settle for a 40 yard FG. We overcome an awful chop block penalty on our second drive and punch it in the end zone, but the XP is blocked.
2 weeks of preparation for this.
Re: Stress Free Saturdays
PAT blocked. That is just perfect
