Why not create our own La Tech TV Network. A lot of schools already have them, producing basketball & football, so why can't we. We could televise all Tech sports out of town and in. Is there an audio visual department at Tech where students could take on a role of producing it? Now some will say we'll lose our fan base. Well I doubt it. Most people that come to the games are still gonna come but now we are bringing Tech to all those folks that may not have considered comeing to a game but after repeated Tech sports view decide to make an effort to come out to the stadium next time there's a game in town. Maybe they can't make it but feel like donating to the school because they like what they're watching.
Saturate North Louisiana with Tech sports. It could be like the Cubs and Braves of old when they were the only games on TV. Don't limit the coverage to just North Louisiana but sell it to East Texas, South Arkansas, Miss and South Louisiana. Not only would our name and teams be common place in homes but it would be a way to showcase the school to future students and atheletes.
It just seems like we're always trying too come up with some kind of gimmick to get butts in the seats why can't we invest in a tv production package for our teams and possibly see our fan base grow expotentially.
Like I said I don't know costs and I'm sure some on here will tell me. But whatever it is it seems like something we should be doing. Mass market our school and teams through the tv screen.
Just a thought.
