Every game is important. As the old saying goes: What’s the most important game on the schedule? Answer; The next one.
But this feels like one of those season-changing games. Win and we can’t point to the next such game. Lose and it would erase what the team has accomplished thus far.
Perhaps I am reading too much into this game. We’ll see

I agree.... Plus, it is games like this that scare me the most. We SHOULD win this game big and those are the ones that can truly hurt us if we don't. UTEP is desperate and will play that way. We need to go into this one with the same mindset.

Vegas knows, I think Franklin and the players know, we know. Not sure our HC knows. Hopefully he won't start coaching again in the second half.
Re: Preview: LA Tech at UTEP - latechsports.com
I've hated UTEP ever since CUSA picked them for new membership ahead of LA Tech back in 2004 (?). At the time, the Bulldogs were dominating UTEP in WAC football with a 3-0 head to head series advantage and had won the 2001 WAC football conference title. Everything looked good at LA Tech. But UTEP --a perennial football loser in every sense of the word-- defeated LA Tech in 2004 in Ruston, with literally the best team they've ever had. And EVERYBODY in the media, on message boards, etc...just couldn't stop talking about UTEP's "potential", the size of their "market" (which they've never captured,) and what a bright future UTEP had. In a very public display, CUSA chose UTEP over Tech. LA Tech went on to win 14 of the next 16 head to head matchups.
Cumbie and Franklin better not screw this up. Stop "overcoaching" this team, and get out of the way!

Just tuning in... UTEP really wants you to think their Texas, huh?
Re: Preview: LA Tech at UTEP - latechsports.com
Baker screwed up, then put in a great hustle to prevent the TD.
