Up 30! Young is doing very well. Good to see. On a side note, what was the verdict of her shoplifting charge? Does anyone know under what circumstances Spoon let her back on the team?

Checked the halftime stats on Game Tracker and didn't see Wysinger's name. Is she hurt again (still) ?

Dowdell has 13 pts at the half and Young 11 pts. We have taken good advantage of most of thier turnovers, scoring 29 points off turnovers. This is good execution of Spoon's plan.

Noticed the same about Wysinger and the new post player T. Anderson, anyone have any news? Dowdell 13 points in 9 minutes is good news eventhough it is an exhibition game. This is far better than last year at this time. Another positive is that our bench scored 19 points to IW's 20 for the half.

I'm wondering about Wysinger myself! I hope she's not out for long! If anyone hears what's going on, please pass it along. Thanks!

I'm guessing we have that fast pace, attacking defense? 21 turnovers is nice!

not sure if anyone has mentioned it but johnson had a few lebron-esque blocks that were great

A nice Sunday afternoon for a game in Ruston again!
It was a small but enterggetic crowd and the Techsters looked good( I was told anyway!)
Was really prowd of the 30 Point advantage at the half but a little bit dissappointed in the 31 to 30 effort in the second half with the Techsters on the -1 points for the half!
The probable starters of Dowdell, Johnson, Jones, Pringle, and Bendohl all looked pretty good ; Young, Holloway did an excellent job off the bench and Adrian made a couple of nice 3 pointers in the game!
I can't say for sure about Kemp, but Wysinger and Anderson did not play in the exibit game...
Was dissapointed that they didn't get to get on the floor, wondering like everyone else about Wysinger and sure wanted to get a glempse of Anderson!
There is still a lot of tuning up to do for the team but think there gonna be awesom this year!

Thanks for the report! Now, we just have to figure out about Wysinger and hope that she is okay. Was she at the game and just did not play?

Great to see Lady Techster basketball again!! Wysinger warmed up before the game, but I noticed her missing in the first half and she was on the bench in street clothes the seconf half. I am a big fan of TK and her game and hope she's OK. Anderson dressed out and was wearing a support on her left leg below the knee, but didn't play.

Kiara Young was very impressive, extremely athletic and quick and aggressive like in the basketball bonanza, hit a 3. She has really developed in the off season, maybe lost a few pounds. Johnson is so athletic, smooth, quick, and an intelligent player who is such a joy to watch. Dowdell was totally dominant. Whitney Jones was solid: a couple of 3's, some strong drives to the basket from the wing. Thomas hit two 3's and is playing with confidence and hustle. Reina Kempt reminds me athletically of Johnson: lanky with long arms, graceful, and her game just looks smart and she hustles. Jasmine had 3 - 4 great passes in to Dowdell from the top of the key for easy shots. Thomas came off the bench first, for Pringle, when Pringle got her second foul in 2 minutes. Young came in for Dowdell at around the 10 minute mark. Kempt came in for Thomas and Holloway for Bendolph. I believe Wysinger and Thomas will generally be out 6th and 7th players, with Young coming in for Dowdell or Johnson as needed.

We will need to step up our defense from what I saw in the second half. IW got may layups and easy baskets on cuts. They had many wide open 3 pt. attempts: that won't get it against Fresno. I'd especially like to see more overall desire and anticipation and positioning on defense. Johnson plays so smart with her feet!!

Great to see Angela Lawson. She was given a very nice introduction on her Techster legacy and got an enthusiastic applause. She and Spoon visited a while before and after the game, nice hugs. I hope Angela and her team has an awesome year. This was the best exhibition opponent in a few years--much like a real game from an organized, disciplined opponent. My crowd estimate based on a quick count is around 400 including the Regal Blues, cheerleaders, Hoop Troop. The LSU game was announced as our "Pack the House" game, which we've won the past 2 years.
