Trouble for one of our 2011 recruits
KTBS3 Shreveport
T.K. Fleming, a two-sport standout at Benton High School in Bossier Parish, has been arrested for hitting a teenager during a field party in what investigators said was a random attack.
Caddo Parish sheriff's deputies, who arrested Fleming on Friday, said the 16-year-old who was hit suffered a severe concussion.
Sheriff's deputies said the victim was randomly attacked April 10 during a party in a field off Bert Kouns Industrial Loop. Deputies said witnesses told them Fleming showed up at the party looking to fight one particular person.
That person wasn't there, deputies said, so the 16-year-old was picked at random to fight. He was hit in the mouth and kicked several times in the head, deputies said.
Fleming and the 16-year-old did not know each other, deputies said.
The 16-year-old went home with a friend after the party, deputies said. He went to the hospital the following day, where he was diagnosed with a severe concussion, deputies said.
Fleming, 18, of Benton, was booked on a charge of second-degree battery. He was jailed at Caddo Correctional Center on Monday under $75,000 bond.
Fleming, who will be a senior next year, was a standout defensive back in football and a track star at Benton High School. He has been recruited by LSU.
Benton head football coach Caleb Guidry declined comment on Fleming's arrest pending resolution of the case.

That is a shame. We don't know the whole story, but it doesn't sound good from that summary.

We don't need a guy like this...

Totally agree!
Re: Trouble for one of our 2011 recruits
Better to pass on this one than let him embarass Tech when he gets here. Sounds like he needs a little anger management counciling. :icon_roll:
Re: Trouble for one of our 2011 recruits
I know TK because I went to high school with him. He really is a good kid, and I always told him he has the talent to go somewhere and he needs to keep his head on straight. He agreed and told me he would. But apparently lately he is hanging out with a older and worse crowd and now washing his college future wash away. I can't believe it.
Re: Trouble for one of our 2011 recruits
This kid is a bomb waiting to go off. Why does a 6-3, 200 pound athlete like Fleming need to kick another kid in the head when he's on the ground. Fleming has some serious issues and we definitely don't need those issues on our team.
Re: Trouble for one of our 2011 recruits
Maybe we should just let the guy who is being recruited by LSU go join them
Re: Trouble for one of our 2011 recruits
I did a quick search at tiggerdroppins', and they don't even want him.
You know you've went and messed up when LSU fans don't want you anymore!

What a shame. This kid had a super bright future for him. Football and Track star and with this incident, he has pretty much thrown it away, at least from a D1 standpoint. He may be able to JC or go to someplace like Texas State. It just tells me that he has very little guidance in his life personally which is just a heartbreaker for any kid.

Goodbye SEC....hello SWAC.

You hit the nail on the head. This kid has no guidance and no one to steer him in the right direction other than the coaches which he only gets to see at school. He got mixed in with a crowd of guys who stayed home and never did anything with their lives and hang out with high school kids. It is a shame too.
Re: Trouble for one of our 2011 recruits
Lets get him to Tech. We have a huge opportunity to have an all-WAC safety on our team, but more importantly, change his life for the better.
