Does Louisiana Tech use a cannon during football games?
A site I help run, http://www.thegamingtailgate.com, is helping EA Sports gather information for NCAA Football 12 as to whether or not teams use a cannon as part of game day.
Here's a link to the information we have so far: http://www.thegamingtailgate.com/for...all-12-Cannons
That said, we haven't been able to find information on Louisiana Tech and figured I'd ask your help with the information. Here is what we need:
School: Louisiana Tech
Cannon (Yes/No)
Cannon Type (Modern Military or Classic Western)
Fired After Every Score (Yes/No)
Inside Stadium/Field Level (Yes/No)
Any information you could provide would be a great help.
Re: Does Louisiana Tech use a cannon during football games?
No. We had a cannon years ago, not anymore. We have a bell on top of the hill near the fieldhouse. I don't think it is rang on scores.
Re: Does Louisiana Tech use a cannon during football games?
I wonder if Dawgzilla will make it into this year's game...

We currently do not fire a cannon during a football game. I believe we discontinued that a few years ago.
I would hope EA sports has had a chance to update Joe Alliet Stadium. The last release of the game did not include the new video board.

Thanks for the information about the cannon. I'll pass on the information about Dawgzilla as well, though if they don't already have it for NCAA12, I'm sure it's probably too late at this point. If nothing else they'll have it for the future. If you have any better shots of it though, that would probably help and I'll add them to our stadium updates thread.

Dooley did away with the cannon.
Here's the bell. It's only rung before the players run onto the field.

No 1 thing tech needs in NCAA: players touching spirit of 88 (bulldog statute) as they run out.
Make it happen gschwendt.

The athletic department would be more than happy to help you with details, you should contact them for details. Staff directory is online at www.latechsports.com
Re: Does Louisiana Tech use a cannon during football games?
EA does not care. None of this will be in the game. They still have the stadium with the three different colors of paint instead of all blue.

The toy cannon was done by the members of Kappa Alpha Order when someone scored a touchdown. It was discontinued when a couple of the members got a little bit carried away one night and started firing it late one night out in front of the house.
Personally having lived at Ft Sill and having to listen to real cannons going off every night when I was trying to sleep I just don't see what the big problem was firing a cannon at 3:00am. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/s...aughing021.gif

I believe the Sons of the Confederacy was responsible for the cannon, not the KAs.

Nope it was the KA's, I can assure you of that one. Incident happened the same semester that former football player Kiso Ab decided to educate a couple of the KA on proper educational terminology and it was Dickey Crawford who decided to yank the cannon privileges.
