Re: Big East authorizes "aggressive pursuit" of new schools
I have a feeling AFA is gonna be headed East this week.
I just pray that somehow UTEP replaces them instead of USU. Not likely but a man can dream.

These days, all we've really got are dreams and the thought that there's "always next year"...:bigcry::D

If the Air Force Academy goes anywhere, it will be to the Big12 in a package deal with BYU.

Don't be so sure about that. Don't be shocked if you see all 3 academies in the Big East soon.

That ain't happening in my lifetime, and I ain't going anywhere anytime soon!!! We'll just have to see who they'll target. Hopefully, Houston gets courted by Big 12 & Big East?? Who knows??

Why do you think there have been so many rumors about them targeting the service academies?? Often where there is smoke there is fire. Not saying it is going to happen. But it isn't a reach by any stretch of the imagination.

Let's send the Big Least a postcard stating: "Pick me! Pick me!"
....only, refrain from referring to it as the Big Least. They might not like that.

Smart thinking!
Re: Big East authorizes "aggressive pursuit" of new schools
A source with knowledge of the meeting told ESPN.com's Andy Katz that the Big East did not issue any invitations Sunday. The source said a number of schools were discussed, including Navy, Army, Air Force, Temple, Central Florida and a new name in SMU, which would be a natural rival with TCU if the Horned Frogs honor the commitment to join the conference in 2012-13. All of these schools except Army and Navy would join the Big East for all sports.

Again, not saying it's happening but it is most definitely being considered and is certainly possible.

So a SMU move would be the Ideal outcome, because it opens up the CUSA West spot, correct?

SMU is supposedly one of our current CUSA allies and the school keeping UNT out of CUSA. UNT would likely be selected over us w/out SMU and the Metroplex market.

Could get UNT into the picture though.
Honestly IMO the very best would be UTEP and then Houston. I have a feeling if it was an Eastern school like ECU we might not be CUSA's first choice as a replacement.
