When I first got cable in WM it was Time Warner. I guess Comcast purchased a smaller block of Time Warner that go round.

This has long way to go before its OFFICIAL. They have to get approval from FCC & Dept of Justice. I think it will happen (others don't), but they have not purchased TWC. They have put an offer to purchase them.

On the verge of dropping TWC here in San Antonio and going to U-verse.

I probably wouldn't do that. UTSA and North Texas have TV deals with TWC SportsChannel Texas. Assuming the Comcast-TWC merger goes through, Rice has a TV deal Comcast SportsNet Houston.

I switched from Comcast to Uverse in 2005, and never looked back.
Re: Comprehensive Conference Realignment Thread
My parents tried switching to UVerse when they moved and it was such a hassle they cancelled before they ever got service. The help desk was incompetent and the switch over time was way too long.

You don't live in a "rural" area and have to deal with them from the governmental side
They are anything but customer friendly
I despise them and hate them more than I can express in words
Re: Comprehensive Conference Realignment Thread
Uverse is awesome in Frisco/McKinney.. never had a problem or down time. In most places its fiber to the hub and wire from the hub to the house.

Uverse?

Re: Comprehensive Conference Realignment Thread
Bring 'em on. Comcast will need every bit of competition and Direct/DISH is NOT the answer. After Comcast started phone service over their lines I wondered when AT&T would go into the cable TV business. Even C'Link has landline, internet and cable TV (PRISM) service.
Re: Comprehensive Conference Realignment Thread
They just put in new lines for U-verse in my neighborhood over the last month. The cost is a lot less for the U-verse. My only concern is the fact that we are midway between the hubs and my wife really likes VOD which is not as well populated as TWC. I think the 250 Gbyte limit with internet will not be a problem. By the way, you can get the TWC sports channel on U-verse. One of my neighbors already has U-verse and he says it is rock solid.
