And as yourself this - when he was stumping in Bama, why did Trump also pile onto the NFL (after already mentioning that they should "fire the sons of bitches") by criticisizing them for taking measures to remove big hits out of the sport?
The left or the NFL? NFL almost had no choice when a number of its players were called out by a despotic president for exercising their first amendment rights. Teammates, coaches and owners banded together because Trump viciously attacked their "family." Same thing any family would do.
There response was not politically calculated but was reflexive and defensive against an attack against their own.
I'll say this for sure, Trump is a lightening rod! He has so much power over people, especially the left, he can get them to do anything he wants. For instance, let's say for kicks that Trump dislikes the color yellow....for whatever reason. All he has to say is he thinks there should be more yellow things in America. OMG! George Soros will immediately finance an anti-yellow movement. Violent leftists will attack the Yellow Cab Company in NY and their goofy CEO will immediately apologize and announce the company is re-painting their cars and changing the name of the company.
Meanwhile, sensible Americans will laugh at the leftists, and gladly hail a Green Taxi in NY when they need one!
More like if Trump says he likes the color yellow, you guys would start wearing yellow to Tech games.

Nice comments from Steve Kerr.
No, more likely it'll be exactly like I said.
I wear BLUE to Tech games, and RED on red-out night. Unlike you mind-numb libtards we real Americans think for ourselves. I don't blame others for my problems. I don't give a shit about whiny-ass snowflakes and your silly complaints. I don't expect someone else to do things I can/should do for myself. And I certainly don't lean on the federal guvmint to solve so-called "problems." So, I wouldn't wear yellow no matter who else likes it, because it's not my color.
More on how the kneeling came about (rather than sitting). Apparently, the kneel was a compromise to show respect thanks to the intervention of Nate Boyer.
If you read one article on the subject - THIS is the one you should read:
http://www.espn.com/blog/san-francis...-affect-change
By the way - Nate Boyer spoke to the teams at the luncheon for the Armed Forces Bowl last year.
I mentioned that most cops are good cops -- you’ve got to understand that -- and I think he did, he agreed," Boyer said. "He said he knows that. He has people in his family that are police and they do it the right way. So I said, 'When you talk about this stuff, you need to acknowledge those things. If you don’t, people will just assume that you’re generalizing, and that’s exactly what you’re fighting against.'"
And that's exactly what disrespecting the American flag and our National Anthem does...it generalizes saying the whole nation is bad. And that is exactly the point I made in my very first post on this topic.
So, Goosey, since you're the one holding up this article as a "must read," can we assume you have seen the error of your ways and now agree that such protests are misplaced?
You missed the point that this particular protest style is designed not to disrespect the military.

It would seem there are different standards at his companies.
"We respect everyone’s right to voice their opinions but our employment policy is clear that doing so while at work isn’t appropriate."

Wait, are there still comments about this today? I was sure the kneeling would work. Didn't everyone watch and see them put action to their words. Or did we just see a bunch of overgrown babies kneel or sit and then go out and make $500,000 each to play a game for our entertainment?
