Personally, I did not want Trump negotiating a deal with China for anything, much less anything that would continue running our supply chain through them (especially for goods related to national health and security).
I seem to remember the CDC trying to purchase those masks before the virus was running rampant through the country, and they said they were not going to export any of them because they needed them. Think about that. The most powerful nation on Earth cannot get supplies for a pandemic because China doesn't want to sell them. So, just like WW2, we have to ramp up secondary sources (which takes time). India immediately stated they were going to hoard the base needed to make medicine as well.
Hopefully we learn from this and never go back to the altar of globalism again. See how close we are to singing kum ba yah when the going gets tough? India is thinking India first and China is thinking China first. Only the blind see an issue with thinking AMERICA FIRST.
