Re: Comments That Don't Warrant A Thread
My brother sent this photo to my phone in the middle of a meeting. I know should not have looked, but I did and it cracked me up and then I was outed for not paying attention.

Congrats on quitting and staying quit for so long!
Three weeks tomorrow. Nobody has really noticed or said anything. I didn't use a spit cup very often so maybe my habit wasn't that noticable. It's still tough and a little encouragement would help.:icon_wink:
Doing sunflower seeds a little, but the salt can't be much better for me than the nicotine was. I've got to get a handle on the weight gain issue. Even though I feel better, I've gained a few in the last few weeks.

Congrats my friend. You are well on your way. I chew gum a lot now. Perhaps that is a good alternative. Also, tic tacs.

Congrats!
At least the sunflower seeds won't rape and pillage your gums and throat like chewing tobacco will.
My grandfather was a smoker until the 60s or 70s. He worked shifts, and he got home after a 3-11 one night, out of cigarettes. There were no 24-hour convenience stores at that time and place, and his craving kept him up all night. True to his character, instead of buying cigs when the shops opened, he got pissed! He was NOT going to let something have that much control over him!
Unfortunately, he switched to chewing tobacco, which eventually led to the throat cancer that killed him at a fairly young (considering his otherwise good health and activity level) age of 77.

Sometimes I wish the avatar and post-count were retained as what they were when a post was made. It would be an interesting record of folks' evolution on the message board.

Interesting. I never thought about it being a control thing. Wow that is scary!
Several years ago I forgot my snuff going to the duck blind and I was the only dipper in the group. I walked back to the four wheeler, rode to the camp, and got my snuff. Missed the first hour of shooting time. The stuff I had to walk through to get in and out of the blind was undescribable. 6" of water and 30" of mud. It was tough! I got my nicotine fix though.:o

My nephew was born 7/7/7 and his sister was born 9/7/9, so they almost had a similar phenomenon in their family.

I wonder how much I'd have to pay Tech for them to let me hook up a Wii to Dawgzilla and play games during the offseason?
