He had more wealth than a lot of DC combined, and could not be bought by special interest groups. Some could argue that it was his ego, that he wanted to be POTUS.. for argument's sake, say that is true.. he has checked that box.. why run for a second term? Why put yourself through all of the crap from the MSM that Trump has had to endure for the past 3 years. He could leave office, and make millions more as a private citizen again just the mere fact that he has been POTUS, just like his predecessors have done. Why go through all of this?
As you stated, "he really cares about the US" and fact he loves America deeply and will continue to MAKE IT GREAT and hold off the socialist/Marxist ideology and violent attempts of the Democrats.
Just wait until this election is over with a TRUMP Victory. It will be war against the evils of socialism, Antifa, BLM terrorist (not all are terrorist obviously) , marxist and other terror groups wagging violence on our police forces and other innocent population across our country. And you will see the Deep State characters in jail. This is why the leftist swamp is insanely scrambling and losing the minds telling lies and creating havoc on the east and west coast. The community organizers Obama's , Clinton's, Maxine waters, The squad and socialist/commie Sanders are behind all of this.

I find it hard to imagine why anyone, right or left, would want that job. I imagine it's the power, but I suppose there could be some "I'm the one best equipped to do the most good" thinking in there (across the board).
I don't know the man, but does President Trump really come across to you as a big sacrifice himself for the people kind of guy? Do you see that in the things he says or the way he says them or in his actions?
I guess it's possible that he really thinks that he's the one that can best lead us and therefore is obliged out of duty to "make America great again" or something. But, I think it's probably the power (and attention).

I understand what you are saying, but then why put up with all of the BS from the media, Congress, etc. The only possible thing I could have thought of was ego.. but he can check that box now.. Power trip? maybe.. but it is only temporary (8 years max).. then what. Former POTUS guys usually just fade away.. they don't have the power that came from the office once they leave.

I think for many people (at the peaks of power or at the very bottom of the food chain) the ego's appetite always wants more. I'm not sure that's a box you can check and be done with.
I also always wonder (not just about him) but how much people at those levels really see and absorb criticisms. He seems to have pretty thin skin and will occasionally respond but for the most part I question how much of that really makes its way into his orbit.
I would hate to have half the country hate my guts (just as the other half did for Obama and will for Biden) regardless of what I did or said. That would drive me crazy. But I am just not sure that the type of person who runs for president doesn't think that the trade-off of having all that power and prestige and the adoration of the other half of the country isn't worth it. I don't think it would be for me, but then again, I haven't tasted it.

Except they didn’t run for the most powerful office in the world, and haven’t tried to expand the power of the office while holding it.
There can be zero doubt what motivates Trump.

Nah they just sit back and tug on the strings.
Re: Presidential Election 2020
Wow last night's viewership (night 2) of DNC convention was down almost 50% from 2016 (48%). There doesn't seem to be any excitement surrounding the democrats this convention cycle. It will be interesting to see how the RNC ratings are.

Kinda sorta. Copied and pasted the below from Mayo; I assume it’s the from the latest DSM.
Signs and symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder and the severity of symptoms vary. People with the disorder can:
Have an exaggerated sense of self-importance
Have a sense of entitlement and require constant, excessive admiration
Expect to be recognized as superior even without achievements that warrant it
Exaggerate achievements and talents
Be preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate
Believe they are superior and can only associate with equally special people
Monopolize conversations and belittle or look down on people they perceive as inferior
Expect special favors and unquestioning compliance with their expectations
Take advantage of others to get what they want
Have an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others
Be envious of others and believe others envy them
Behave in an arrogant or haughty manner, coming across as conceited, boastful and pretentious
Insist on having the best of everything — for instance, the best car or office

It’s pretty easy to check yes to a lot of those things...
For example, poor old Fauci got asked to throw out a pitch at a Nats game. Next day or so Trump is playing catch with Mariano Rivera outside the White House.
Bizarre.

Yeah, I tried to point out that the guy has a clear case of NPD years ago, but it is no use. The FoxNews haze has an ability to deaden one’s ability to judge reality for what it is.
