Tech souvenir cups are just about all i ever use for sweet tea at home (all my other cups are too small).

I quit using them for tea because I was getting staining that made them look gross. But I always have 2 or 3 of them around the house with water in them. Probably the most practical thing I learned at OTS was the importance of staying well hydrated. :D

the staining doesn't bother me. just keeps everyone else from using my big cups!

Adds "character."

Yeah, but it's still a no-go for me. Looks too much like the "staining" on the inside of the Solo cups my grandpa used to spit his dip juice in.

So I was a bit bored and decided to go check out a movie. I don't have cable or even much of a TV, so I miss nearly all of the previews and decided I wouldn't mind seeing a science fiction thriller. I don't know if I've ever said anything more wrong in my life than when I said, "I would like a ticket to Skyline at 4:30, please." I very much did not want a ticket to see Skyline.
To say it sucked is an insult to the quality of all movies which have sucked before.

Just me or was it a cheap knockoff of Independence Day?

...Plus the monster from Cloverfield and the sentinels from The Matrix.
Re: Comments That Don't Warrant A Thread
Hung out with my brother's family this last weekend. His wife is a little younger than he is (and he is younger than me). I guess she graduated from high school around 2002.
So they've got pandora playing on their tv in the background and we were kind of playing name that tune. A Dr. Dre song came on (I think it was Dre Day) and I figured it out first. I said, "yeah that is from The Chronic." My sister-in-law says "oh, you mean the old Chronic, all the songs I know are from the new Chronic."
Several layers of irony/amusement working here.
1. Former SBC missionary/seminary grad debating Dr Dre albums with a former sorority girl. This is like a ULM fan and an LSU fan debating nuclear physics.
2. My brother pointed out that even though he knew we were talking about cds, it was unnerving to hear his wife and brother comparing the old chronic to the new chronic.
3. I felt old.

So, I was in West Monroe last weekend. It has been a couple of years since I've hungout in W.M. or Ruston, but dayum every woman I saw was smoking hot. You don't see that in Shreveport. I miss college.

I fired someone yesterday. First time I've ever had to do that.
It was not fun and not easy. I really, really hated it.

Some of you may have seen this.
Inner Peace
If you start the day off without caffeine,
If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains,
If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles,
If you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it,
If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time,
If you can take criticism and blame without resentment,
If you can conquer tension without medical help,
If you can relax without liquor,
If you can sleep without the aid of drugs,
...Then you are probably the Family Dog.

My sympathies. I haven't had to do this, but I can imagine. Does not look fun to me at all.
