Re: What is Systemic Racism?
So when do we say "Congratulations, we have met our goal of eliminating systemic racism? What is the measurable criteria when we can pat ourselves on the back and say "well we did it".. Yes it is a journey and not a destination, like losing weight.. If you want to drop 50 pounds.. you work to lose that 50.. however when you achieve that goal weight, you have to maintain it. You can't go back to the way you were eating/living before and not expect the pounds to come back on.. When do we get to our goal?

You know as well as I do it’s never going to end. It wii never be enough, so why worry about it. Cultural differences and inequality will always exist., between people of different races, and between people of the same race.
The mantra of systemic racism is the strawman.

Why would we need to do anything else?

Don't understand your question.. You didn't answer mine... What measurable criteria is there to know when we have achieved and eliminated systemic racism? or at least made it to where we can declare success.

I really hope that isn’t what you are saying.
That’s easy.
The breakdown of the black family unit that started in the 60’s and the inner city education system that has been
perpetuated by democrats and overwhelmingly supported by blacks as evidenced by their block voting over the last 50 years.

Already said it. When representation in good and bad outcomes is approximately the same as the demographics of the population.
When CEOs and boards of directors look like the population, when incarceration rates resemble the population…

So, should we expect the representation in the NBA and NFL to reflect the demographics of the population?

That applies to HS, college, and professional sports leagues too, right?

You wouldn’t expect 50% of students to be black when black people only represent less than 1/3 of the population of Louisiana. But if black enrollment is underrepresented, then it is fair to ask the question “why?”
But if equity and equality is the goal, isn’t that what has to happen?
Re: What is Systemic Racism?
I appreciate the common sense responses. It is obvious that social justice will always demand that conservatives try to hit a moving target.

If you take professional sports at large, it is far more balanced. Blacks are under-represented in baseball, soccer and motor sports.
Even in the most diverse professional sport, the NBA, white people still make up around 25% of the league.
If you look at minority ownership of sports franchises, the story looks worse. These high paid black workers in sports are still helping white men rake in lots of cash.

But you concur with raising that to 60% white in the NBA right? That’s what you said you wanted.

What do you mean by “that” - 1/3 of the class/school or 1/2? If you mean the former, then “yes” - that would be the goal.

So, you want to force people into majors they don’t want to take?
Edit: Or are you inferring that Louisiana Tech talks to certain high schools which are predominantly white about engineering while talking to predominantly black schools about other disciplines?

So fast food restaurants will be 60% white employees if you have your way.
