Not only that....but our withdrawal was contingent on a deal being struck between the Afghan government and the Taliban. That is why the Afghan government (not the US) let the Taliban prisoners go free. It was an overture of peace before the negotiations that pretty much never went anywhere. I guess they knew Biden would just cut and run, so there was no need to give up anything. Guisslapp's own link gives the details, but he blames Trump.

Also, the left continues to ridicule the the cognitive test Trump took, knowing full well Biden could not pass it. Remember, it was designed to measure cognitive ability, not intelligence. It is made the way it is so that ALL people, regardless of education, can be tested for dementia and other cognitive issues. Now, saying Biden could not pass it is not necessarily a slam on Biden, it just says that he has reached that age where he cannot make decisions based on his own cognitive functioning. Lots of 70+ year olds are in that same boat. Trump was not. And I bet comparing Trump's academic record against Biden's would likely show Trump's ability to learn and retain information were greater than Biden's during his college years as well.

There in paragraph 6 it states that we are to abandon our military bases and pull our soldiers out BEFORE destroying or removing equipment and BEFORE evacuating our citizens or those that assisted us. Furthermore, we are to use those Taliban soldiers as our perimeter airport security to protect our citizens, Afghans friendly to the USA, and our service members from attack. If possible, we are to provide the Taliban (those we have been fighting and killing for 20 years) with a listing of SIV applicants and US citizens so they can assist us in helping our people get home. That danged Trump, hiding all this incompetence in that agreement.

Why would we have destroyed the equipment we gave the Afghan security forces?

I just looked again, and I see NOTHING wrong with the agreement that Trump signed with the Taliban. And the agreement was signed with the Taliban because that is who we were fighting...who else would we sign the agreement with?

He was looking out for America and it's citizens. That is apparent. He tried to push the Afghanistan govt we supported to have peace talks with the Taliban before we left, to no avail. He did make it where NO American service personnel lost their lives from the date the agreement was signed forward (until the cluster f&^% in chief took over the evacuation). All Biden had to do was execute an orderly withdrawal from the country, removing citizens first and making sure we didn't leave anything behind that could be used by the enemy, and no Americans needed to perish. Now we are in an indefensible position in a nation controlled by our enemy, putting more lives at risk.

We are now in a position of weakness. Technically, if you accept that the Taliban was in control of the airport security, the fact that we lost 13 service members yesterday pretty much nullifies the agreement. But now we have no options....we are exposed. That's on Biden. If he got that advice from his cabinet and Generals, it's on them too.
