Yeah something about value engineering...
I think the pillars will be there, but the glass thing has been axed from the plan.

The white "pillars" will be gone. All of the paving you see in this picture will also not be part of the finished product, at least not this year. All brick, stone, and aluminum panels will remain.
Re: First Look at GATAVision
I'm curious to see how the aluminum panels will turn out (and age). Pretty unique.

Will there be any lights added? Example like our Centennial Plaza clock tower's in-ground lights.
Re: First Look at GATAVision
I think I'd be fine with us "value engineering" it this year, and then next year being able to add a few things to it like the paving and some lights and whatnot. Then you even have a little more to look forward to next year as well.

Now THAT would look cool. Red and blue lights shining up on the aluminum at night.
Re: First Look at GATAVision
I was thinking a light cannon with the State-T "bat signal". Probably wouldn't sit well with the environmental folks, and they might pull my LEED AP for suggesting it, but darn it, I just like 'em. :D
Re: First Look at GATAVision
I know that a lot of the lighting was VE'ed out of the project, but i am not sure exactly what lighting was left over. I don't think that there will be anything that is elaborate. I was pulled from the project and reassigned, so I don't know if anything has change since then, but I highly doubt it.

How much money was saved by all this "value engineering"?
Re: First Look at GATAVision
I honestly don't know. But it was a substantial amount.
Re: First Look at GATAVision
BB&B logo in laser lights would be cool.
