Wow! I could have posted that...
except, I understand the difference between true economic globalism and the kind of globalism your buds in the "new world order" are advocating. I have posted before about my travels to Russia and to China, and to South America, Mexico, and a few countries in Europe, and none of those, unfortunately, were merely vacation trips, even though we took advantage of some opportunities to do some sight-seeing. The purpose was to establish some partnerships. And I am a certified NASBITE Global Business Consultant and have advised American small businesses in opening overseas markets, supply-chains, etc... Point is, I understand the real value of international business.
Next, when others around the world refuse to "play fair" then yes, we should defend our economic interests. Also, in our national security interests we have to domestic manufacturing capacity in some key industries. Certainly recent events show how important that is in big pharma.
Labor is one of the components of "capitalism," as I'm sure you know. It's about finding a balance between all the elements, labor, capital (money), resources, and adjusting as needed. You, and some others, have been critical of President Trump trying to bring manufacturing capacity back home saying it violates the "purity" of raw capitalism, and how could any true "conservative" agree with it. I think as POTUS he is doing his duty looking at the bigger picture of what is good for ALL Americans, not just those who own stocks in big corporations and the captains of industry looking for cheap overseas labor to improve their bottom line. I don't have to agree with every detail of his plan(s) to see the merit in it, and to understand what he is trying to do.
The "free" market is truly a wondrous thing and nothing exists in a vacuum in it. It's like the ole Rubic's Cube, every move has benefits to solving it and ramifications too, making the puzzle more difficult to solve. For instance, I know if Trump is successful in getting manufacturing back in some previously lost industries, like steel, then it will open all kinds of new investment opportunities. Talk about a true CONSERVATIVE's dream come true! Wow! Big money, baby! Not to mention what it will do for literally hundreds of Americans and their combined families, who, BTW, gaining access to some good income will be disposing of some of it buying real estate, cars...and becoming the source of new consumers for those businesses that provide such goods and services. A previously defunct factory town could be reborn and look out! here comes a brand new Walmart, and the combo of a new Walgreens and CVS! I could go on, but I think you see the point. So, please, spare me the "I am more of a capitalist than you because I want to see American towns turn to dust as corporations invest in slave labor in China, India, and elsewhere, baby!"
