Arkansas (Midweek)

We had a good crowd, but our fan base was the typical, "oh well we'll get tickets at the gate..." What our fan apathy did was to allow Arkansas to have a large presence in our own stadium. It only takes a few Hog fans to pull off the annoying "Hog call", but when they have several hundred it is loud. Shameful that our fans won't take ownership and shameful that our administration won't do more to fill the stadium with our fans. Instead they brag about a "sellout" and 3rd largest crowd while our own fans are being forced to sit in the outfield. Treating our own students like crap is not cool.

They will have a chance to do better vs. LaLafayette. Maybe they will try to pack the stadium with Tech fans instead of LaLafayette fans.

Quality win. Congrats Diamond Dawgs.

The actual real Arkansas fans that travel to the games are not that bad. The bad thing is 99% of the Arkansas "fans" are the ones that only travel Walmart to buy their hogs shirts and their success in life is directly proportional to the success of the University of Arkansas. They have not been very successful in life lately.

Typical anti-SEC reasoning. Substitute the word "Arkansas" with "LSU" . . . .

I think the south Arkansas Hog fans seized on the opportunity to get to put on their attire and travel to a close game and call the Hogs. Can't blame them for that. Like Mad said, if our fans would have bought the tickets early, there would have no place in the grandstand for them. They probably had 500 at the game and they were loud. Our fans never organized a cheer like "Here We Go Bulldogs." Simple stuff.

On the Arkansas forum referenced earlier they were laughing about how fired-up our players were. Well, I think some of that is the fact that they were having to listen to an opposing team's loud cheer in OUR house. We have the longest home winning streak in the nation, and our players take it seriously.

All in all, Arkansas fans were just fine. Our fans need to not lounge so comfortably in their seats, waiting for the big rally. Be involved in the game!

I had folks that I knew from El Dorado (Ark fans not grads) hitting me up for tickets. We need our ticket staff to start calling folks or set up shop around town and get the Rustonites to buy tickets.

This has not generally been my experience growing up in Arkansas.

Not living there has helped. Small doses are more tolerable.

For reference, I also grew up in south Arkansas.

The Arkansas fans are generally not as obnoxious as LSU fans (especially the Wal-Mart LSU fans). There are no major league sports teams in Arkansas, so the Arkansas Razorbacks are the state's team almost by default. If you grow up in Arkansas, especially in the 90s, you are most likely going to root for the Razorbacks.

Tech up 3-1, but making stupid errors. Have to tighten up on defense.
