I nearly had a stroke over something I couldn’t control. Plus I lost a perfectly good tv :bomb: I won’t lie, I was equally as pissed about the 2015 Southern Miss game. Thank God I was there, because I couldn’t afford to lose another TV :D. Now that I know how Holtz is, I don’t get nearly as mad. I KNOW if somehow the West is on the line when we go to Hattiesburg, we will lose. You can bank on that, but I don’t think the West will be in play so nothing to worry about.
I'm glad I didn't, but I understand. It was the error, certainly not Bartman - poor guy. The last few years have been a sweet ride. If the Brewers hadn't have won the last 30 games (it seemed) or if the Cubs had just won 1 more, we would be playing in Wrigley tomorrow instead of Chavez Ravine. I don't think any team can beat the Sox this year, though.

Really? I don't deny it, just don't remember that. Is there a link? I do remember when the USF fans appeared on this board warning us about Holtz, I took a neutral position. I thanked them for their concern but said we'd like to see for ourselves, as I have mentioned many times, Tech Football was born to WIN! I do remember that. But...what were the first 4 games like in 2013? Probably not very good. I will look it up.
Fact is, even you dyed-in-the-wool Holtz apologists agree with me...and the others with the same opinion. You do! I read between the lines in y'alls posts. You know we are right, but you find it comforting to be PC about it. I am not PC.
My memory, though failing, is that you have never called for Holtz being fired.

I don’t see him ever over achieving.
It was a good call and the play was well executed. What are you criticizing?

Well thought out answers. Thanks. No, I'm not an insider. I, like you, am a passionate supporter of La Tech. Yes, I have concerns about our team and some of the coaching decisions. However, I don't like people criticizing others about there lifeworks (probably not a word). Usually, with some possible exceptions, most criticism is made by folks with no idea of what is actually going on. I actually think Holtz is a good coach and I honestly believe he can win bowl games and CHAMPIONSHIPS at Tech. However, I am beginning to lose faith in our QBs abilities. I fully expected a vast improvement this year and so far he remains inconsistent. My patience is waning, which certainly doesn't mean anything. If he doesn't play well tomorrow it may be time for a change. If Holtz sticks with him the rest of the year and he doesn't improve, the position should be "open" come spring practice.
I just don't want our fans to adopt a mob mentality as we have seen fans of other schools. Fans and schools with a lot less class than us. I certainly don't want "us" to be like "them."

Yes, it’s a fact. The 2015 was stocked full of future NFL players. Just look at the roster. I don’t remember a Tech team ever have 8-9 future NFL players on one team.

No. That was the point. We didn't get in a bowl with 9 wins and a great team. Comparing Holtz and Bicknell is not a fair comparison for many reasons.

Holtz didn't make the call. "the call" has been there all year for our QB to execute. He had executed that play approximately 4 times before Saturday. He can do the same anytime he makes the correct read. On Saturday one of our other coaches INSISTED that he keep the ball and run with it which made it easier for our QB to make a decision.

Bashing Holtz makes about as much sense as saying President Trump is responsible for the "bombs" sent too CNN, et al, in my opinion. Man, most of our conference mates would love to have experienced Tech's "failures."
This is our sixth season in CUSA, all under Skippy.

Right. The DE might hold contain for part of the first quarter, but after that, they never do. On most plays they are in the RB’s back pocket when he touches the ball. They practically dare him to keep it and run it. That’s why that particular play was SO wide open. Nobody expected him to run, because he’s had a 100 chances this year and hasn’t.

he had kept the the ball 4 times prior. All for long gains

I agree with the original post. Skip's greatest contribution is creating stability, reliably creating winning seasons and reliably winning bowl games. Tech's program needs that.

We needed to build our fan base and giving. That ain't happening. Why? Because our AD is not taking advantage of the situation

Is it possible that this board plays a role? This is the darkest most depressing site on the internet. The die hards are miserable here. (While the outside world thinks Tech is rolling). It's odd... the winning has not seemed like winning at all because we score low in style points the last couple of years (J'Mar). Only about 3 Tech fans (here) are happy we won yesterday. It seems like we lost reading this board.

You are right. It is why several of the older posters eventually left BB&B for the BleedTechBlue site. Some of the posters on here never stop bitching regardless of whether we win or lose. They beat the same tired agenda drum every day on here as if we haven't heard them in their last 5,497 posts. It is a shame because this used to be an outstanding forum back in the day.

I wonder if it affects casual fans. This is the only free message board so they would come here to get a gauge of how happy the Tech bandwagon is and whether or not they want to jump on it. The local media doesn't help much. If they come here they will likely run from this crap show.

It sure has affected the team down south. They can barely draw 85000 people down there with that mean old message board they have. Your posts are usually thought provoking, but come on man. This is a HUGE stretch lol
