It'll actually fit pretty nicely on the existing footprint if you change the field orientation.

Add a new parking lot on the corner of Tech & Railroad and you've got a short walk to a nice park in a desired location.

Everyone that goes to the Love Shack raves about its location. They love the apartments behind it, they love the railroad track. It feels like a part of a neighborhood; it has charm. People rave about Fenway and Wrigley because of their location, not many people love looking at baseball stadiums in suburbs surrounded by paved parking lots. The Love Shack is distinctly Tech, moving it away from it’s location would be removing a part of culture of campus.
I agree. I believe that the JAS/TAC is about as far as students would want to walk. Even the Lambright Center is on the very periphery of distance. Of course we were used to Memorial GYM and old Tech Stadium (where AE Pillips is now). The baseball field was the furthest -- just under the RR track and a little walk. With the new housing on that side of the tracks the target has moved a bit, but for those on the far side (Graham etc) it's still a hike. They have torn down or decommissioned the nearest dorms (for good reason probably).

That being said the stadium has to be built to at least minimum "suggested" dimensions by the NCAA if Tech is to ever host a regional. Just working around the field:
Love Shack 315 down the left field line, minimum suggested 330.
Love Shack 370 in the left field power alley, minimum is 375.
Love Shack 385 in center, suggested minimum 400.
Love Shack 340 in the right field power alley, minimum suggested is 375.
Love Shack 325 down right field, minimum suggested 330.
Love Shack 25 feet between left field line and the outside wall, minimum 30 but suggested 37.
Love Shack 12 feet between right field line and the outside wall, minimum 30 but suggested 37.
That's a lot of moving around and ground to make up. As much as I want to see it stay I also want to see baseball be in a position where we can sell the possibility of hosting a regional or super to recruits. It needs to be done right even if that means moving it do so.
Looking at some of Dawgpix's & other pics, Ruston High's dimensions are
RHS 320 down the left field line, minimum suggested 330.
RHS 350 in the left field power alley, minimum is 375.
RHS 370 in center, suggested minimum 400.
RHS 350 in the right field power alley, minimum suggested is 375.
RHS 320 (assuming symmetry) down right field, minimum suggested 330.
The numbers are similar to Love Shack. We could play there for a year while the new stadium is constructed.

I'm not sure what the current grandstand looks like. This is an old google streetview image of 2013. If it still looks like what it did in this streetview, we need to at least add some vinyl banners to wrap up the chain-link fence.

Found an image through the Ruston Sports Complex FB page. Uploaded March 15, so pretty recent. I wonder if soccer and softball can find a temp home at the new complex.

Looking at the RHS Varsity schedule - it looks doable - https://rustonhigh.lincolnschools.org/baseball
JV & Freshman games would probably need to be played at one of the other fields

If we use RHS next year, they could add some temporary bleachers down the first base line past the bullpen/light pole for more seating. Maybe even some on 3rd base side or in the outfield.https://i0.wp.com/rentalbleachersinc...38%2C472&ssl=1
