I donated $50 last month. This is a good investment and will keep on giving long after we are gone.

I will post the ending 3rd quarter balance for the endowment next Monday. The 4th quarter is when contributions need to be made that will affect the payout for 2013.

I received notification that the payout for 2012 is $2,165 which is approximately $300 more than 2011.

This is something we all need to get on board with. That is $2100 of perpetual giving. Just imagine if this endowment was in the 6 to 7 figure range!! We can all donate $10 to $100 bucks and watch it grow!!

I agree with your comment. IMO it's because historically tech gifts for scholarshipsand professorships were. These are the first general funds of the Tech track and field,all others are for athletic scholarships to date. But any donation can be added from a donor, but someone has to start - that's all we did in this case.

The endowment was started in January 2007. The first payout to athletics was made for the '08--'09 academic year. The Foundation Board sets the percentage each year. The payout amount is based on the endowment's corpus from the previous year's June 30th balance.

The payout history for the endowment:
2008-2009 -- $ 981 for Athletics ticketing system
2009-2010 -- $ 683 for Athletics facilities landscaping improvements
2010-2011 -- $1,111 for Tech logos at JAS
2011-2012 -- $1,871 for equipment updates for sports medicine / trainers
2012-2013 -- $2,165 yet to be determined

Total to date $6,811

Just threw in $50 out of my overall donation. I encourage everyone to put a little into the Fund, every little bit helps.

I put in $300 out of my overall donation a few days ago. It will be withdrawn monthly so it won't all hit at once unfortunately, but it will be in by the end of the year.

Is this account counted towards our overall endowment?
