Unfortunately the Tech leaders apathy for sports has left us in no mans land conference wise.
Has anyone tasted the pizza at the new Johnny's in Baton Rouge yet?

Dear God. Is mediocrity to be OUR new normal? Is this it? Is this all we can hope for?
I'm telling y'all right now I won't be all in for this scenario. I'll be done. I won't support this. Ever.

That says it all....we simply have not done what it takes to be in demand as a member in a better conference. Its on the leadership at the school and with us the alumni who frankly have failed to bring any real pressure to "do whateve it takes".

Perfectly correct. But it's a 90/10 blame ratio - leadership/alumni.

The funny thing about this post is that there are many schools that ATTEMPT TO OWN OR ALIGN THEMSELVES WITH LARGE TV MARKETS such as Memphis, U of H, UNT or even Baylor. The fact is thatU of H does not even get a market share unless they are ranked in the top 15. The Houston TV market belongs to pro sports, UT, A&M & LSU. Not Baylor, Tx Tech, Rice, U of H. If conferences are banking on these schools because of tv markets then they are banking on "potential future markets" because none of these now owns one. If this is the case, we can claim that we have Shreveport, Monroe, Tyler, Alexandria & Jackson. Those markets combined are pretty healthy.

We need to just beat NEVADA on Saturday and we will certainly get a lot more
discussion to join MWC, CUSA and BIG XII

And about market share...TCU is only getting DFW pub based on its football success the last few years. Those future Seton Hall-TCU basketball games will be lucky to get a score mentioned.

The big 12???? I am thinking that CUSA may be a stretch. The big 12 is 2 decades of winning 9 games a year away. Boise has been winning for 10 years and all they got invited to was the WAC version 3.

This Big East thing is going to "go over" better than you think in DFW. TCU is already touting the fact that their private school academics will be bolstered by it's new association with the eastern "elite" schools of the Big East. I tend to agree. The Big East should be a great "academic" fit for TCU.

Correct! We were asleep too long. It did not have to be this way. With the proper vision and hard work, we could have been TCU/Boise (in multiple sports, not just football) way back in the mid 90's and be at the top of the list today for a AQ membership...if we had not already gained one.

Agreed. Heck we could have and should have been the Gonzaga of the South if we would have had any vision and foresight to invest and build on the Malone-Randy White years of success we had. After PJ Brown and Bear left we tanked.

This!
I live in a town with two CUSA teams and watch every game I can on TV. The naked eye says that the WAC has better top end and worse bottom end teams than CUSA. Tech is mid pack and would be mid pack CUSA this year. But, that's our downside. Our long history says that we will always field competitive FB, MBB, WBB and BB teams. And graduate our student atheletes. For those who say CUSA is a stretch I say BS. Based on what? TV market? Really? It's a rare day I hear anything of Rice or UH. That's not a knock on them (I'm a fan of both), just a reality of life in a pro town. I'd bet that both would love to play in our market area. That and they've never had the TV exposure we have had recently in the WAC. We bring more to our next conference than some of you want to think.
