i can't get your 60 minutes video to play, for some reason. my guess is that they are referring to the antarctic penensula, which i understand has been warming of late, along with the ocean around it. the majority of the antarctic continent, however, has been cooling considerably and adding significant amounts of ice and snow. of course global warmists spin it to keep the blame on global warming -- atmosphere getting warmer, can hold more moisture, which gets dropped over the coldest place on earth. but if that is the case, why isn't the arctic ice cap growing, too? just goes to show that you can explain any climate phenomenon as a product of global warming. if the warming trend turns around tomorrow and the earth starts to cool, it will no doubt be our fault, and have dire consequences. we all just need to live in grass huts and eat soybeans that we grow in our own back yard.:rolleyes4:

JANE

ELAINE
well I don't need much, just 3 squares will do it
JANE
I'm sorry I don't have a square to spare, now if you don't mind
ELAINE
3 squares? you can't spare 3 squares??
JANE

ELAINE

puny little ply, I'll take one measly ply
JANE
look, I don't have a square and I don't have a ply (flushing and leaving)
Elaine
no no, no no, don't don't, I beg you
I really don't know if the ENTIRE earth is getting warmer or not. But the data being used as absolute truth by are very spotty and not sufficiently accurate to make the conclusions being made by the CGW. In fact, the VAST MAJORITY of the "temperature" data are not measurements at all. They are numbers produced by models within models within models, none of which have accuracy within the range of the results they report.
I suspect there are some regions of the earth that are getting slightly warmer. But there are probably also regions that are getting cooler. (Like most of Antarctica, for example). My personal belief is that these are normal variations caused by changes in solar activity and/or slight changes in the earth's angle of tilt from time to time.
What's really hard, Salty, is to believe anything YOU post. As a matter of fact, I have had several trips to Alaska. As far as talking to "locals" it would matter a lot as to exactly which locals you talk to. I talked to a "local" here in PA just this morning, a tenured PhD professor at one of our local universities who said that we must get rid of Bush at any cost because his tax cuts for the rich had driven the country into a catastrophic economic decline. This moronic drivel was being spewed as the Dow soared above 13,000 for the first time and only 11 months after it went over 12,000 for the first time. And unemployment riding near historic lows, corporate profits healthy, GDP expanding steadily, inflation in check, over 10 million new jobs created, etc etc. So much for good data from this particular "local"..............
you are probably in the 9% of the population that thinks that Cheney is doing a good job.
So the national debt doesn't mean anything? Great, let's stop all taxation and just let the government print all the money it needs. I'm sure you like that idea.
Anyway, the effects of global warming are clearly visible in Alaska. Remember, AGW means that the lowest temperatures are the most affected.
How many of you never turn off your computers? Just curious.
My PC draws up to 4 Amps, my monitor 1.5. 5.5 A @ 120V = 660W
DSL modem draws up to 20W.
Router draws up to 1A (I can't believe this) for 120W
800W.
I'm turning it off tonight.
Soared above 13,000?? The Dow was just below 12,000 in Jan 2000. Thats a whopping 9.23% over 7+ years. Hardly soaring.
Oh, and the economy grew at its slowest pace in over 4 years last qtr.

As for your Global Warming dribble, well, your nonsense speaks for yourself.
