Re: Peanut Buckets Coming to DAWGTOWN
Our last 2 trips to Chilis took over 2 hours each. One time, we had no silverware while our food sat on the table and grew cold for over a half hour.
The second time we had 4 different servers because people were missing shifts and others were sharing tables. Our orders got misplaced once and never submitted to the kitchen. Then when the food came out it was wrong.
Re: Peanut Buckets Coming to DAWGTOWN
Y'all are a bunch of wusses. 30 minutes for silverware? I'll walk up to the front and grab some silverware and make a comment . . . and (To Insure Promptness) accordingly the waitstaff.
Then, when the waitstaff DOES reappear I ask for the manager to come visit. Chilis in West Monroe CAN be the worst. Items on my ticket have been adjusted several times as a result of civilized conversation.
If you don't take verbal action you're missing out on a chance for the establishment to make immediate corrections.
PS-And, yes, we'll pass up a restaurant sometimes, hoping they are improving their operation.
I don't mind visiting with the manager cuz if I were the manager I'd want to know about service items that can easily be improved. Social media reviews can be helpful, but also hurtful for the manager's employment.

It was edible. We ate. Cordial communication, initiated by the server, with the server and manager resulted in an equitable parting of ways. The server received a nice tip. It wasn't his fault. He handled it quite professionally.
Re: Peanut Buckets Coming to DAWGTOWN
I was in a Chili's with a Nigerian waiter who "forgot" to bring my credit card back with the check. That was rectified by the waiter but I still told the manager.

The absence of silverware was due to about a dozen tables around us needing to be bussed. We asked several times, but I stop short of washing my utensils when out to eat.
Re: Peanut Buckets Coming to DAWGTOWN
We've all experienced bad food, wrong order, slow waiter,etc...There's always a civil/diplomatic way to rectify your issue. Trust me when I say this. Never throw a fit because your plate will come with food plus multiple specimens of spit.

Logan's filed for bankruptcy (reorganization) last week, and plans to close up to 21 locations (not including the one in Ruston). They probably be lookin' to cut costs.

Is the one in Ruston "under performing"?
The one in WM is, but it's not lack of business. Bad management and horrible service there. Only been to the one in Ruston one time. It was not much better. They changed models at some point. Conservation of peanuts is never a good sign.;)
What led to the discussion on Logans and Chilies.
Re: Peanut Buckets Coming to DAWGTOWN
As I mentioned in another thread, I heard the City of WM economic development employee spout off some interesting figures at our weekly civic club.
Some of my notes:
Thomas Road area sit-down restaurants (Logan's, Chilis, RoadHouse, Cheddars, etc.) has total annual sales of $4.21 million. 47% higher than the national average if all those stores were combined. (By state law he can't give out specifics on annual receipts, although some national chains wanting in on the action will tip the local General Managers some extra cash for that info under the table.)
The WM Chic-Fil-A does 5 times the national average CFA in annual receipts.
The WM Newks had the best 1st day in company history, best 1st month, and is on track for best 1st year. All after locating in one of the worst valued properties in town.
There's a Golden Corral coming to the Thomas Road area (this is the fifth try the company has made at a property owner to buy land.
In his 15 years, 11 hotels have been built with a total of more than a 1,000 rooms in WM.
The WM Super Wal-Mart is either No. 2 or 3 in state of Louisiana receipts. After the two Neighborhood Wal-Marts opened this year, the receipts at the main store released some pressure, but started climbing again.
Lowe's can be expected to return to WM, next to Pizza Hut, where they have already spent $5 million in utility line movement and other improvements. This could happen as soon as next year.
This is some really staggering stuff.
Oh, the Hobby Lobby and Office Depot draw customers regularly from Arkansas and the rest of the region. And the Fred's stores are in the top part of their companies.
We used to have business writers with the Gannett papers reporting this kind of stuff, but they've been re-assigned to do other stuff that is more boring.
PS-And there have been some failures in the restaurant field, but not that many.

All I got to say on the matter is it's nice to have a Logan's in Ruston to stop and get a fairly decent hot bowl of red on a cold day. I axed if there was anywhere else to go and nobody answered, so I'll assume there isnt.
Re: Peanut Buckets Coming to DAWGTOWN
Saw a sign next to Best Western that a El Jarrito is going to be next to it.
Re: Peanut Buckets Coming to DAWGTOWN
kind of curious as to where any land is available on Thomas Rd for Golden Corral

As you know(noticed) almost every one of the failures was locally owned and not a chain.

Development and new access on the east side of Texas Road House (not sure how that will work out)
The old hotel behind Chilies and Outback recently razzed the restaurant. Something will likely be built there.
Willie's Diner can't last much longer, but I doubt a chain would be interested in that location.
The area where Mohawk attempted to expand (that building is vacant again)
The old Ronin(?) building is vacant.
