In Alaska's case, especially, it's a low-population, sparsely populated state...they've been practicing social distancing since...well, forever! I'm sure that contributes to the good numbers. But, just as importantly, both states are isolated from regular interstate travel. I don't know how much this matters in the big picture re: the C-19 crisis, but it is interesting that the two geographically isolated states are doing well in comparison to others. But then, I see that Montana has 448 cases, which is better than Hawaii's numbers, so it's not just isolation. Then again, I think Hawaii has a larger population and is significantly more dense than Montana's.
As I said, maybe there is no statistical significance to Alaska's and Hawaii's numbers, but it just struck me that those states seem to be fairing fairly well and they are off by themselves in the boonies.
