Why would they do that when I understand that Iowa St and Tulsa have already played this year?

Those teams were good for their era but today players are faster, stronger, and faster. The speed difference would be the biggest advantage that the 70's couldn't offset.
Don't get me wrong some the players were incredible like Fred Dean.

You are right. I guess that's the trade that was supposed to happen if UCF beat Tulsa. Then I suspect we will be in Memphis. Who knows?

Exactly...Tech-Iowa State and Tulsa-Purdue would make more sense.

Tech-Tulsa is a conference game next year...that matchup doesn't need to happen either.

Iowa State won the opener 38-23 over Tulsa in Ames.

Do you honestly think any team in Tech history...especially championship teams...would have trouble scoring on the 2012 defense?

The issue would be those defenses trying to stop the 2012 offense.

There ya go. I presume the Banowsky wants two of next year's C-USA favorites (LaTech, Tulsa) to play against teams from AQ conferences (Big Ten, Big XII) in their bowl games. Wins would create some much needed buzz for next season.

Well said-- did anyone ever remember Spinks- Carr- Tilly - Slaughter- Barber-Troy-little fellow from south la who went to Falcons ( game ice storm was epic vs Mississippi) . If you followed the logic of this thread- Rice- Montana- Bradshaw etc could not play in their prime could not play in pros today

Just can't see them jumping from 21 to 16 in BCS rankings this late in game. Hope I am right.
