Trivia note. John Savage, head UCLA baseball coach, is Ault's son in law. The AD at UC Irvine was a friend of Aults and Ault recommended Savage should UCI ever restart baseball (is was not being played at Irvine at the time). It was restarted about three years later and the AD took Ault's advice. When the UCI AD became the AD at UCLA a few years later and needed a BB coach, he hired Savage again. Turns out, not a bad hire....
