So right now they are sitting at 17 teams. 9 CUSA and 8 MWC. With UTEP speculated to switch sides, to make 8 CUSA and 9 MWC.

However, the Big East will now focus on other CUSA teams like Memphis and ECU or possibly another western team like UNLV or New Mexico.... which will open up more spots in the alliance. I wonder if we will have to wait for all that to happen before they make a move?

Okay. This, along with what happened to CUSA today (with the loss of SMU, Houston & UCF to the Big East) officially leaves the MWC football at 8 schools and CUSA at 9, right? (This assumes UTEP is still in CUSA and not the MWC)

Yep. If UTEP moves to the MWC and CUSA adds Tech, both conferences will have 9 teams.

Its basically all that we've been asking for. One good shot to get in. And the UTEP swap was rumored last year during the whole BYU fiasco. Couple this with having an 8-4 season and beating two out of the three MWC additions, the only reason we get left out is if the CUSA WANTs us out. I just don't see it, and I think we are the pretty girl at the bar this time.

Would a boob enhancement help us? We may not have the prettiest face, but big boobs would go a long way.

Not necessarily. Plan C* for the Big East-West conference is Navy and Temple. I'm not sure if Navy wants in without Army or AFA.

Plan A Involved BYU+AFA+Navy+Boise, Houston, SMU, UCF
Plan B was SDSU+AFA+Navy+Boise, Houston, SMU, UCF
Plan C was SDSU+Navy+Temple+Boise, Houston, SMU, UCF

if Navy doesn't jump, THEN plan D will involve another CUSA team.

I've heard its Temple. Navy and AFA have said no. That only helps us because we stand a better shot with only one slot than two. 2 drops them down to 16 where they would stay and 17 forces them to even out at 18.

See I don't look at it that way. We're the *pretty* hot chick with glasses that you know is incredibly smart, a little intimidating, but plenty of substance.

The blonde bimbo you are talking about is something like MTSU. UNT is the skinny, but kind of mediocre looking girl who is looking better by comparison.


It's up to CUSA. If they want an excellent university with a good, passionate fanbase and competitive teams where it counts, they pick us. If they're too dense, and pull up UNT because of market size, then screw 'em, but we won't be getting in.

All the rumors from the interweb seem to point to an aversion towards sunbelt schools, fwiw

I cannot get over the fact that San Diego State is now in the Big EAST. The BCS and money are making for unusual allegiances. This is just not rationale. Schlepping the whole football team to the East coast a couple weeks in a row will be very tough. I'd consider it a disadvantage for the travelling team.

I think CUSA is in desperate need of a school that plays baseball
